Far, far away in southern Sweden, snowy Jönköping holds the official world record of the world's largest LAN party and computer festival, named 'Dreamhack'.
Dreamhack is a local area network gathering with live concerts, activities, and competitions in digital art and gaming. The major event is held twice a year, in the summer and in the winter. In 2011, the winter event welcomed a spectacular record of 20,984 visitors during 4 days with 2.1 million unique viewers.

To give you a hint of the scale of this event, 12,000 people turned up with their PC's in suitcases, to not only play LAN games to their choosing but to join in mega e-sports competitions for titles like Starcraft II and Counterstrike.
This all seems like a lot of fun, but you should imagine the amount of internet speed needed to support a giant mass like this one. Dreamhack therefore once held the world record for the fastest internet speed, 120 Gbit/s, which was beaten this year by second largest LAN party 'The Gathering' in Norway.
Next to that, there is live music, stores, parties and outdoor activities (including for example huge pillow fights and paintball matches). If you're a hardcore pc gamer, this is the only and truly event where you have to be.
