I'm really surprised they are making a sequel and it's being released so soon. L4D still feels new to me. Also the setting of this one seems pretty interesting. That huge thing (obviously the new tank) is crazy looking. Big scary hillbilly infected. Chainsaws will be insane.

What is the point of a silenced mac10 in l4d?

The funny thing is, Killing Floor has most of those melee weapons (knives, axe and chainsaw) but I bet it will be 500% better done in L4D2.

why make it less awesome for no reason! As if not the actual Mac10 CS1.5 style, misses like all **** and basically works the same way as a shotgun but worse! AS IF NOT!!

Yeah they will do it better

its Valve, they pull off bs. I mean the fact that I love L4D is proof, I could not ever imagine enjoying a game fighting swarms of brainless unarmed combatants. Zombie games never interest me, but Valve as usual proved to be the exception to the rule

The chainsaw's will be meh (kind of like the auto shotty, ultra good but no fun) but using the axe will be fun!
I hope they can translate the weight and the meatiness of the swings and hits well.
This will show us jsut how good their ragdoll physics are!
I can't wait tbh.
This is just what L4D needs I think. Sure it is fun but it is quite limited in weapons and what you can do.

Left 4 Dead fans angry at Valve over L4D2

Left 4 Dead 2 was announced on Monday and with it came a slew of new videos and screenshots. However not all is well, the Steam forums have gone into meltdown with angry gamers. Specifically the Left 4 Dead 2 forum. Hundreds of very vocal users are very annoyed that Left 4 Dead 2 has been announced a mere 7 months after the original was released. This means during the time from release they were focusing on L4D2 and not content patches for L4D, perhaps why the 2 versus map ports took so long. L4D has only received survival mode and one new small map for that mode.

They have a point to be honest, I thought exactly the same thing. My thoughts were more like why the **** wasn't this in the first game they took so bloody long to make what is a relatively small game. I mean they spent ages making that random spawning system but in the developer commentary they proudly say they can populate an entire map in one working day... so why didn't they make more? Its a fair call that this should have been in the original game but hey...Valve take a million years to do anything I suppose they just wanted to get the game out there.

I can forgive all their sins though because they always, always deliver a product miles better than anyone else.

I was with them to start with, but now, I just can't wait for it.
I got over the initial "why wasn't this DLC?" and have now embraced the idea.

But i still would have preferred this as DLC, that way we aren't stuck with some ppl playing l4d and others playing l4d2 - it should all be united!

Pretty much. Thats one of the main nerdrage arguments but its a fairly valid one, it will split the community unless they connect the games up somehow...

Yeah that sucks. I mean this new setting is cool and all but it's got nothing on the original. I love the style of the boss infected and some of the environments are really cool in the original. It would be a real shame if i wanted to still mainly focus on L4D but simply cant due to lack of players. It kind of makes players have to buy L4D2 just to play a good survival shooter with a healthy population. I'm sure the original will still have more than enough aussie players but I'm just a little concerned at the moment.

Oh and have to agree, the new team = not a big fan. I suppose the big farmer 'leader' guy is half decent but the rest are lame. Still can't beat Francis and Zoey is cool too.

Thats probably due to Balancing. Valve are usually pretty fastidious when it comes to balancing the gameplay, L4D is a perfect example. The more weapons you add the harder this gets.
