MMGN Twitch TV Users

It seems that a few of us are starting to get into Twitch TV either streaming games our selves or watching other people play. Either way it can be entertaining. Heller got the ball rolling with a few sessions here pc.mmgn.com/... then Kero stepped up and did a few events him self showing us some classic N64 games like OoT.

I thought it would be a good idea to have this thread to share what we are all doing on Twitch. Share channels so we can all follow each other (signing up only takes a couple of minutes), also having a Twitch TV account allows you to chat while watching other people play.
We can also use this thread to help each other get started, what programs to use, settings etc.
Last but not least lets use this thread to notify everyone when we are about to stream a game. If I'm around and I see someone announce that they are about to stream a game I'll Facebook and Tweet it to help get more viewers interested.

I'm just getting started and will figure a way to start steaming games with my overly complicated setup soon. Feel free to add me.
You have to mute your stream if you're gonna watch it at the same time, Xsplit just puts out default windows audio, so if you have it coming from the game and the stream. Endless sound loop.

I learned that the hard way when I did my first stream [MOG]

Mute it from the xsplit end or just the twitch stream?

I literally just got it and gave it a quick 5min whirl. I'll play around a bit more over the afternoon.
Mute it on Twitch.
Sweet, cheers Kero ;). I'll be broadcasting some BF3 to test it out again soon enough. Maybe in a half hour.

E ~ That ate up the bandwidth like nothing else X_X I might stick to recording game nights with fraps and uploading it the next day.

This will be good for MC though. Didn't seem to slow at all.
We should do some MC streams.

2 player adventures maps or something, be good to do every so often.
Coolies.. Who would host the server?
If I figure how to do it I will :P
I can host if you want, I've already got a server running, I'll just need to add the map.

Streaming eats bandwidth like a fat kid eats cake.

Well I haven't played in a while but I'd be happy to open a can of whoopass and destroy your times ;)

Or someone that's familiar with the server could take everyone on a tour around the map. Probably don't want to watch someone build something for hours on end.
Hence the adventure maps :P

I might download the Zeldacraft map and run through that.
now streaming super meat boy. be aware im just running a few of my favourite levels and trying to break my times.

also it's my first time playing in months.. but yeah :P

twitch.tv/hazdogga

e: had to run for dinner but i made a few noticeable improvements on two of my favourite levels.. 2 seconds on one of them! [MOG] if you watch the highlights, skip the first five-ten minutes.. just me learning how to play again haha

e: lol can't hear my mic at all.. oh well. just me whinging the whole time [MOG]

e: okay round 2.. i'm just gonna run the game from start to finish, meat boy only. not worrying about bandaids, only speed :>
Might start doing some retro gaming steams soon as well. So I can show everyone how bad I've gotten with older games :*O
I'll try streaming Battlefield 3 tomorrow night, see how badly I go.

I've been fiddling with my stream a bit, it's a lower resolutionnnnnnn. If itworks out so I have 250ms ping instead of 40, I'll quit.

What res do you set your stream too? I personally think unless your getting gods internet speed in Australia then its preetty much useless streaming in HD for high intensive games like BF or any FPS for that matter.

Thats my preference but I guess everyones internet is different.

I'll tell you what I was running and it may give you an idea of what you'll get.

For starters, my average upload peak is around 450kbps.

I had to set my bit rate to 400 to and my resolution to 480P @ 25 FPS. I also dropped the audio quality a bit, but I'm not too sure if that was necessary.

Playing on a 32 player TDM server in BF3. I was getting, funnily enough, around 250ms ping. X_X

Mind you, the stream was running fine during all that. Didn't look so good full screen, but it did the job minimised. So, if you have a moderately better upload than mine, you should be able to alright.

You can also mess around with the interpolation on BF3's end to fine tune a bit more, once you have got your stream as lean as possible.
Yea I found when streaming on my PC on BF2 my ping was crazy and kept getting kicked from servers :-p

I run my FPS at 15-20 sometimes, dont know if that would help because I do most of streaming on Console so I guess that frees a lot of processing on my computer
Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that I actually really hate Australian internet.
