Just want to assure everyone that the site is still the same...just a different skin. Plenty of IMPROVED features. Nothing has changed.

Although I expect plenty of you to complain just for the sake of complaining

I personally love the new comment/reply tabs on the right of screen. The whole site just looks fresher, and i cant delete your posts "accidently" with a single click, lol

All I want to know is this: why?
The previous iteration was good and it was user-friendly. Does the new version make it easier to administrate or is it something to do with advertising?

It's an improved lay-out. If it didn't improve, things would be broken, you wouldn't be able to post, we wouldn't have a featured box on the home page.

It's essentially a lay-out that makes it far easy to administrate and edit.

Check out IGN's lay out from 2003 compared to now. They've changed it about 15 times. You can't stay the same way with a site. You need to evolve and change. If you don't change, there is absolutely no room to grow whatsoever. If the look stays the same, so does the overall rating. No growth whatsoever.

I logged on today and almost had a heart attack....

Pretty dam laggy.. But I can see a search bar which is an Improvement, I remember when MyPS3 went 7.0 they had no search bar lol

That's one thing that does annoy me. The search bar. There should be one at the Home Page, like the old style. Ten times easier to search.

You also don't need to explain why it's done the way it is...

EDIT: Can I suggest to hide the reply button? It's pretty annoying. Too...

I was always wondering when my360 was gonna get get 7.0...Here it is!
It'll turn out to be like the NXE...We will get a couple months into the new layout before wishing to the see the old one.

Ok so these sites are user driven. Without users then the creators would not make money and hence would have to find work elsewhere. The users make sure the people in charge of these sites make a living. This is why I am shocked you have chosen to change the site like this, especially when the users have been so against it in the past. It makes no sense to me. I'm not having a whinge for the sake of whinging, I just don't get why you would turn a perfectly functioning website into something that doesn't function all that well and isn't liked by the users, the people who make sure you get paid!

Empire Forums changed their forums about 3 years ago, they went from a very populated forum to the forum it currently is, a forum which might see 2 users on there a day and perhaps 5 posts max each day. You need to keep your users happy, and making this change will not please all the users. I for one dont mind the layout, but I can't view it at home and it loads really slow at work, which means I will have to stop using the site... which really does suck and I am sure I'm not the only one in this boat.

Thanks for your opinion Milky, but we would never do something if the general consensus among members was that they didn't want it.

And that's not what has happened. Most members have gotten used to it and liked it at MyPS3 and MyWii. It always seems as though the minority make the loudest noise (as you have).

And I can't understand how this is something that "doesn't function all that well".

Elaborate, so we can improve.

The truth is (and this is my opinion as a My360 member, not a MyMedia employee) that I don't want ANYONE, especially you, leaving because of something like this that you dislike and think we did it to go against members.

Admittedly, it's the forums that have created our bond as a community of immature 20-somethings (lol), not my reviews or news. So if you're leaving because of the change of skin, where essentially the forums have stayed EXACTLY the same, you'd be throwing away a relationship with a community that is the most unique across all the sites and one that values you as a member.

It would be like leaving your real-life community because they put a traffic island at the start of your street. Would you be willing to throw it away for that?

the new layout should be faster, not slower...

well said Milky, this is a community, and we will actively improve the site to cater for all users.

basicaly we do a make over once a year, just to keep things nice and fresh, we might not get it right the first time, but we will eventually, it will improve
