Me too :/

EDIT:
6000 KUDOS :D
I only upload gameplay videos sporadically, and only get about 10,000 views a year on average so I'm probably not all that useful for you. For Youtube Game play Uploaders
I used to, but im lazeh so you know how that went [MOG] For Youtube Game play Uploaders
What popular gaming channels have signed up with you so far?

Just curious, I've got about 75-80 gaming channels in my subs and this is the first I've heard of TGN.
How do you plan on monetizing video game videos?
I have the gear I need to do videos, but this is my concern with your proposal @_@

That's another reason I'm wondering about it, I've started recording a few LP's and I'm gonna upload them in a batch very soon, but you know knock on wood. If I ever get fairly popular I wanna know what the advantages to this thing is over just collecting my own earnings or say signing up with Machinima.
I think the deal is that they take 20% of your Google Adsense earnings or something, in exchange for visibility on their video portal.
I'm actually talking about legal licencing :P

Meaning, how do they plan on collecting Adsense off videos that have someone else's content, IE: We or they do not own the video games we will be recording :/

Videos will have Adsense ads over them I guess. Either they collect it directly and forward your share to you, or vice versa. I'd assume the former.

I know how the Adsense system and all that works. I'm asking how do they plan on doing this without being sued by game companies?
What the dude is trying to say is that you can't monetize video game gameplay videos, he's not asking how the money will get to him.
sniped, ror

What Silence is getting at is that you get paid by the advertisers on the page.

Your video has nothing to do with your payment.

If you were charging to have people just watch the video, then yeah, someone could sue. I don't think they can sue you for having ads.
oh my bike

Are you people dumb?

YouTube CLEARLY states that you CANNOT apply for monetisation on videos where you DO NOT own 100% of the content.

If I put call of duty gameplay on my channel, I CANNOT APPLY FOR MONETISATION BECAUSE I DO NOT OWN CALL OF DUTY.

k?

no, just frustration because he's been trying to tell people that in his last 5 posts and no one is reading what he's trying to say. :)

Edit: omb, stop timing out, mobile phone internet
Not to argue or anything, since I haven't ever bothered looking into monetisation myself, nor do I even see ads thanks to AdBlock, but don't Machinima, RoosterTeeth, or whoever display ads on their videos? Do they have deals made, is there a fair-use policy? I'm genuinely curious as to how it works for them, if at all.
Well, you learn something new each day.

This must be why I chose not to monetise my videos all those years ago.

But, seriously? Calling someone dumb for not being right about some youtube terms and conditions? Really?
Ads =/= people getting paid.

There's an option in YouTube that lets you toggle it on or off and if you upload copyrighted material, YouTube forces ads on your videos.

Edit: I was calling you all dumb for not reading, not because you got the terms and conditions wrong.
I'm still sure that I've seen channels out there that have monetisation coming from purely game play footage.

Once you've paid for a game, I thought your experiences with it were owned, unless you modded the game in a way that the devs didn't want or whatever.
I'm fairly certain that's not how it works.

Feel free to prove me wrong though.

Examples of videos that could be eligible include:

You filmed your cat and there is no background music.
Your video contains royalty-free music, and you can prove commercial rights using direct links to the song and applicable license.
Your friend's band wrote and recorded a song for your video and states in writing that you can use and make money from it.

Your video is not eligible if it contains content that you didn't create or get permission from its creator to use. You need to be able to show written permission for the following video elements:

Audio: recorded music, live performances, cover songs, background music, etc.
Visuals: images, logos, software, video game footage, etc.
Any other content you don't own worldwide commercial usage rights to.

Examples of videos that are NOT eligible

Your video contains a song you purchased for personal use (e.g., bought on iTunes or in a store) but didn't obtain a commercial license.
You found a video on the Internet and you cannot prove that it's in public domain.
You are only singing words of your favorite copyrighted song
You have used content from someone else without permission, but you haven't yet received a copyright notice on your video.
You edit together or "mash-up" other works
You only use 30 seconds of a song or video clip
Your video does not provide proper attribution or credits as required by a license.

If your video is not eligible, it may be removed from YouTube.
