Let's get Gibson active again!

Hey guys.

So, many of you here who play MC would know about the Gibson Server run by @Doles Well, lately there's been less and less people playing, to the point where nobody comes on at all. When MMGN setup their own server, some members moved to that, but it seems most people stopped playing around some point last year.

@Doles has been running this server out of his own pocket, along with the community's support through donations, free of charge to members of the forum, but there's really no point continuing if nobody bothers to play anymore.

So, we're hoping to get as many people possible back on Gibson. If you still play MC, please come join us on the sever, or post in the Gibson thread if you're not on the whitelist.

I don't play MC but it would be a shame if Dole's is running the serve and only a few people are on it, I know it used to be really active before the MMGN server came along.

Maybe if someone organized some community ideas to get people to come back and play on Gibson again?

We still do MC Mondays. Nobody ever turns up though, only the few regulars.

I always considered The Gibson as the MMGN MC server. :S

One thing I'd like to clarify is that Doles doesn't run this server purely out of his own pocket. You can donate to help it out, the few donations that he has had to this day are probably one of the only reasons he has been able to keep it running as long as he has.

It's kind of a self defeating thing- the server's often empty so people don't go online.

Community projects seem like a great idea. Perhaps a weekly/monthly article on people's creations would also be good for promoting it to general MMGNers? I wouldn't mind doing this if someone gave me a little guidance :P

I have been trying to come on more but managing the other server has taken nearly all the minecraft out of me :P. Something that reduces the number of players on gibson, which i take responsibility for, is that many of the regulars have admin or moderating roles on "the MMGN server" simply as I can't trust other people.Once some of the old players get past the "new shiny map" phase i think we'll see a comeback.

One thing i have been making clear when asked, is that the other server is provided by MMGN but the gibson is for the MMGN members. I would do some sort of advertising for the gibson on the other server, but I highly doubt that would have a good effect :P

You know what, I like you. You're the first person I've seen maybe ever that accepted the kudos limit and didn't try to spam up to 200 as fast as possible. I'd be glad to see you on the server in the future.
