So after a huge amount of Facebook users started hassling us to get an open Minecraft server up and running, Endboss gave the go ahead to get it done. This server is 100% open to everyone, and those who want to actually be part of the MMGN community, you can find out about joining the exclusive Gibson server in this thread - pc.mmgn.com/...

If that doesn't work, you can connect manually by adding 115.178.20.82

If you want to be an admin on the server, you can apply via this thread.

If Skullster is abusing his powers we will simply take them away. We want to try and encourage some of the non-members of the site to step up in an attempt to bring them to the site - however if they cause issues they are gone.

Obviously preference will always go to MMGN members :D

yea but he didn't know what it did =/. He seems nice but it's a lil worrying making someone you don't know who doesn't know what they are doing an OP of the server :P. He'll learn eventually though. Good point mr hellerer :).

Well with group manager we can set up a tier-like system. Obviously the person with full-op status should be someone known and trusted, but we can have a lower rank which could do things like protect areas for people, set warps, and ban griefers.

The only problem there is the the occasional a-hole that comes along and destroys everything for their own amusement.

Survival is teh best :). Just so you know the essentials mod is still for survival. That with group manager just makes managing things alot easier. You can set a better spawn, make homes, put in a welcome message(so you can advertise MMGN better, A few people were confused what i meant when i asked them if they were MMGN members). It can also do non survival stuff like turn off firespread or prevent people from blowing up things but those are optional.

Worldedit and Worldguard aren't survival based but are more anti-griefing things. If you were going to implement either you'd want to have a tier-like system like i mentioned above. WorldEdit is too powerful a tool for a random person.

Sounds good Marge. Do you have experience with installing these mods? If so I could probably give you access to the back end. I'm sure I can nut it out, but if you know what you're doing I'll just let you handle it.

yea if you wanna dedicate your time to other MMGN stuff then i can set them up.

Installing them is dead easy. Just put the jars in the plug-ins folder. It's the editing of the config files which takes a little but of know-how. Maybe load the server with all the plug-ins installed, then upload the config files (or the entire thing) and I can tweak them

But we shared an inn together <3. Heheh, nah i reckon the biggest threat at the moment is Creeper Damage... We may also need Marge to build one of his famous Subway Stations again :P

okay, so after alot of procrastination and zelda, the mods are all set up! For the time being stuff like firespread, creeper damage and fall damage are still on but can be easily turned off if that's the decision. We can now protect areas aswell, which lets only selected people do things like open chests, break blocks etc in the area.

The op's have been cut right down as per request to a very small team. Since it's a survival server there isn't really a huge need anyway. However, if i don't get distracted by zelda, i will set up a moderator role which will help with 'moderating'(banning griefers and some general help) and protecting areas for people.
