I'm fairly sure we have a currency system installed on the server, but no actual economy mod.
As in, there is the ability for players to trade with each other in exchange for money, but we don't have proper stores in which too sell items or any way of making the money.
I think some economy mods don't work very well, although I have played on a few servers who operate an economy really well, and it strives the community a fair bit.
I've asked about it before, but we decided not to have an economy system in order to maintain the survival qualities of the server. I would like to still see it happen one day though.

The point of economy would be players using money to buy items, making it much closer to a creative server then survival. Easy to exploit with multiple accounts

easy to exploit is users being able to make shops where they can buy from themselves for $10 then sell the same item to themselves for $1000000 i know of a plugin that failed with that bug :/
