So after a huge amount of Facebook users started hassling us to get an open Minecraft server up and running, Endboss gave the go ahead to get it done. This server is 100% open to everyone, and those who want to actually be part of the MMGN community, you can find out about joining the exclusive Gibson server in this thread - pc.mmgn.com/...

If that doesn't work, you can connect manually by adding 115.178.20.82

If you want to be an admin on the server, you can apply via this thread.

I hope the other OP's and Admins don't mind, but I OP'ed Nem while I go on my dinner break. I've trusted Nem for many years, and he's been helping me with griefing problems for tonight. :)

If you guys think Nem is a good OP I will leave him as OP. Let me know if it's yay or nay. :P

alright,

I would like to suggest Chest Lock like Oak has on his server, its make a chest private to the user in who owns the chest n the only one who can open it will be the owner.

That is my mod suggestion.

I think just a safe area where you can build without worrying that people are going to break into your house and destroy it. Locked chests would be awesome too. Because apparently hiding your chest in a mountain isn't enough. Hell, hiding your ENTIRE HOUSE in a hill isn't enough to stop griefers. Heh, you have to give em credit for finding it all.

There is now a moderator role which can protect peoples homes, ban/kick people and do some other stuff. They are light blue names. I am going to install lockette or a mod like it now due to large requests.

E: i couldn't find a recent version of lockette. For the time being to lock your chests you can do this:
1. put a sign underneath one of your chests.
2. put [lock] on the first line and then yours on the 2nd(and other peoples on the third and fourth if you want.
3 you done.

I also couldn't manage to enable region protection for moderators, but ops can still do it. i'll give it another gay late tonight Since fire spread and tnt damage are off griefing shouldn't be as much of an issue

Whoevers been on the server in the past 10 hours has managed to make multiple chunks disappear and destroy some buildings which have protect on. A normal player wouldn't be able to do these things... hax?

Then the jail is pretty useless then :\...

Is there any possibility that regular members can have the option to remove a player that may be disrupting the game when there isn't a mod around to stop it?

E.g. 1 report = warning
2 reports = jail time?
3 reports = dc from server for a set time

and so on until banning?
