Okay well I tried my hardest to see if there was a thread made for Android dedicated discussions, so sorry if there already is one. :P

DISCUSS!
Motorola Droid RAZR announced:

 •  Dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 CPU
 •  1GB of RAM.
 •  At 7.1mm, it's the thinnest smartphone on the planet.
 •  It has a 5MP camera on the rear capable of 1080p video capture, plus a 1.3MP camera on the front.
 •  Motorola claims an amazing 12.5 hours of talk time with the Droid RAZR, thanks to a 1800mAh battery, plus software that allows you to pre-program various triggers (known as SmartActions) to cause the device to turn off radios, reduce screen brightness, etc.
 •  The device also includes 16GB of on-board storage, but can be expanded with a microSD card.
 •  While the Droid RAZR is upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), it ships with 2.3.5.

 •  A 1.2" GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM
 •  LTE or HSPA+ connectivity
 •  A contour display (like the Nexus S) with an ultra-thin bezel
 •  Barometer for weather features
 •  NFC support
 •  WiFi b/g/n
 •  1750mAh battery
 •  Hyperskin anti-slip coating
 •  Hidden notification LED
 •  5MP camera with 1080p video capture (with continuous focus, zoom while recording, time lapse, and video snapshots), 1.3MP front-facing camera
 •  Zero shutter lag

There's too much to post here. :P
The new Galaxy Nexus looks absolutely off tap [Derp] Any ideas on a release date?
I was watching the stream on youtube live. They're looking at November for release based on what I heard in the video.

Yea apparently early November release.

Is there any word on when they're going to release ICS on the Nexus S? :O
A worthy upgrade from my iphone 4? ^_^
Hopefully ICS gets released for the Galaxy S officially. Looks good!

From what I understand the Android Beam is just like the Bump app, right?
The other new features seem pretty awesome, I always wanted data usage built-in and a faster browser will be a nice change from the current laggy one on my phone. :'@
ice cream sandwich is the best name for an os [MOG]
Is there a video on YouTube of the event? I missed it live and a really want to see the Galaxy Nexus showing off the all the features. :O

Also pretty bummed they didn't call it the Nexus Prime. [MOG]

YouTube.com/Android.
They only have 2 videos up, one is a commercial for the Nexus and the other is their conference. 57 minutes and some number of seconds that does not exceed 60. (*)

Anyways, there should be an Android channel. Or a mobile channel with Android/iOS/Blackberry/Windows/MeeGo/Some other OS I can't recall. Then the PC and Mac channels can merge. So we'd have PC and Mobile. Nice huh?

Really excited for the Galaxy Nexus, but rumors are saying it costs $800. Wow. I can't pay that much for a phone. iPhone 4S? :S
The galaxy nexus seems like a very worthy update from my hd2, can't wait till November!
I just hope its around the $550 to $700 price range, hopefully.
Question: what's a barometer? [MOG]

Because that's what the GN has.
Good thread *nods*

Ice cream sandwich looks good, curious to see how accurate facial recognition unlocker is.

A pressure gauge, mainly to measure weather.

I'm looking forward to ICS, and running it on my phone. Are the upgrades generally easy? Can any monkey do it?

Implying the Mac channel isn't strictly just talk about iOS devices anyway.

This seems to vary from phone to phone. Doing updates outside of the scope of what the manufacturer supports often requires a fair bit of dabbling around in community guides and software to get the job done. Unsurprising, the community methods sometimes work better and pretty much always flash a better rom.

I'm hoping it's just a plug it in and click update kind of effort.
Guyver it will be if you are willing to wait for the official update.
Sumsung took more than half a year to get the Froyo update for the original galaxy s.
Yeah that's why I always go with the "official" Google device so I get the updates first. Samsung/HTC and other vendors always take so long because they get the standard update, and then work their UI's into it. SENSEUI is crap imo, so I always stick with Vanilla.

Official updates are sent over-the-air and are a simple download, reboot and you're done. Takes roughly 10 minutes at most. Those who want to get vanilla on their non-official Google device will need to root their phone and install the ROM. I can help you with that if need be, I did it on my Nexus One to install Gingerbread months before the Nexus One release and I'll probably do the same with my Nexus S for ICS!
I've been trying to emulate the Ice Cream Sandwich software on my computer using the SDK but I can't manage to get it working properly. :(
edit:
Never mind, managed to get it to work. ^_^
Editing this post now using the browser from ICS! [MOG]
And pricing info has been revealed from a UK retailer for the RAZR and the Galaxy Nexus:

Oh nice capt_oats how is it? Is she looking sexy? I'm really keen to hear about the Google + integration.
