That is what I have done with my phone. I don't have anymore pre-installed Optus applications. Only the Optus My Account one which I downloaded from the Market on it's own.
I am not sure if it will void the warranty. The firmware I have been updating too are official samsung releases so I don't think it should. The custom binary counter in download mode for me has not increased once.

Thanks mate I think you've given me the motivation to finally change the ROM in this phone. Might chuck ICS on it unless some one suggests something better.

MWC announced heaps of quad core devices..... but I keep hearing that they're not much if an improvement to justify a purchase over the current dual core devices because a lot of them were rushed in production? What do you guys think? Worth the wait? Because I was thinking of upgrading to a Gnex soon...

Looks like Galaxy S and S2 owners might be getting ICS on the 15th www.techspot.com/... depending on provider. Guess companies like Optus want to make sure that all their bloatware is loaded up onto the ROM first [Rage]

Lol well vodafone still haven't officially released the ICS update to their Nexus S's which is meant to be the first phone to get the update. So you could be worse off guyver. :P [Rage]

So they still haven't fixed the battery problem? Thats pretty bad considering they released it in december last year. @_@

When I opened the market it told me about google play. It has begun.
EDIT: It removed the market shortcut from my homescreen. The app is now called "Play Shop"

I got a Motorola RAZR.
Since Google bought Motorola they are pushing out ICS to the RAZR in Q2.

Only problem with the phone is the battery life is a bit shit. :S
