General Android Discussion

Okay well I tried my hardest to see if there was a thread made for Android dedicated discussions, so sorry if there already is one. :P

DISCUSS!
In the opposite oats. I felt apex was better moving from nova to apex. Each to their own.
Does the Apex launcher have any themes?

There are, but not in the same sense that go launcher has themes.

From what I saw, I think the paid version is the one that lets you use themes that are compatible with other launchers like the GO one. Correct me if I'm wrong. :P
Is there any point in mobile security, the likes of Norton or others on phones?

Only if you're installing apps that aren't from the Play Store.

I'd never pay for an app :P
the latest update for the SGS2 is totally crap and pointless.. all the more reason to change it up!!!
On occasion when I wake my phone up or unlock it once I start scrolling through the pages I notice that the screen change lags. Not sure if this is an ICS thing or something else is causing it. A second or so into it it's back to being super quick.

edit:

Didn't know that if you hold down the home key it would now bring up a list of apps that you commonly use.

Sounds like the governor, not quick enough to boost your CPU to Max frequency.

Turns out it was the Go Launcher fancy transition effects. I've switched back to the regular transition effect and it's smooth as silk. Weird that it never used to do that until I updated to ICS. Maybe Go Launcher needs an update so something like that.
Ok I have TERRIBLE tethering capabilities now with my ICS upgrade. IT's really pissing me off considering I don't have internet at home atm. It worked a treat with Gingerbread but this crap is balls. I spent half an hour yesterday refreshing stupid facebook and half the time the connection didn't even go through.

Anyone else having the same problem? This is via USB connection, and Wifi hotspot just didn't work.
Wonder if it's an ics related thing because I got the same sort if thing when I upgraded from a galaxy s to a nexus. Thought it was just the hardware.
It must be an ICS thing. I can barely find anything on the interent and I dont know how to fix it.
Back when I mentioned my transition effects were lagging when I unlocked the phone or woke it up. Well the other day I uninstalled a bunch of stuff I don't use anymore and now everything works fine no matter what transition effect I use from Go launcher. So I'm not sure if I uninstalled a troublesome app or an update snuck in during that time. Either way I'm happy things are running quick now.

That's the multitasking apps, you have to swipe it away to stop it from running.

Jubilee said: Um dude if you are not sure about changing your ROM I wouldn't recommend doing it...S2 just got the public upgrade to ICS yesterday via Optus.

I got an S2 with Optus about two weeks ago, already had ICS. So happy.
So can anyone check their tethering capabilities for me?
Azza, swiping the program from the recent list doesn't stop that program from running, it just removes it from the recent programs list.

It does for me. Opened Chrome and loading MMGN.com, looked in my task manager and it says Chrome was an active application, swiped it away and it was no longer an active application. When I clicked it again, it had to reload the page which isn't done when multitasking.

Yay 4.0.4 update got approved by voda for the gnex. Now to see whether it fixes the issues I've been having. If not, back to vodafone my phone will go. -_-

I was playing around with an S3 at the shops today. Pretty good phone. Performs really well and it has silky smooth scrolling on the home screen. I don't mind what they have with TouchWiz as well and the unlock effect is pretty cool. =D

And it's not much bigger than my gnex..................no.......must get temptations out of my head! [Rage]
Dam all the good Go launcher themes I want to try cost money. I'm too stingy for that :P

Didn't know that there was a Max pain mobile version.

Also looks like there has been a few recent Go updates so everything is running nice and smoothly now. Pretty happy with that and ICS now.
