Surprised that this thread hasn't been created already. What phone, smart phone etc do you use and what are your thoughts on it?
I've been using a Nokia N97 for a while now and I've been very happy with it, especially since I upgraded from an iPhone 3G. I didn't mind the iPhone because it was a good entertainer but I really needed a phone that was a good phone and not just a media device that rings. The N97 is far from perfect but it keeps getting better as the firmware matures.

I have a iFail and its treated me well so far. The phone itself is a bit ass, the battery is beyond pathetic and it doesn't allow you to do a whole lot, but the applications and all the product support it has make it awesome. Has a goddamn application for everything.

Its a shame Apple controls them because there would be even more if they didn't, but it still has awesome stuff like the Winamp remote that keeps me happy. Also its the only touch phone I would buy for the text input alone. I tried a heap of the popular ones and they were immediately wiped out because it was too fiddly to type a text message which is what I mostly use. The one on the iPhone is brilliant, especially in horizontal mode.

I have a Nokia 6760 Slide smartphone.

For a long time I just stuck with normal, boring, cheap phones because I barely used them at all, but I decided I may as well go a little upmarket after I outgrew my last phone. It's really, really handy to have a convergent device like a smartphone, especially when you load it with Opera Mini. High-speed mobile internet, email, GPS, organiser. I like to use mine to read game reviews at the store before I spend any money.

Yep, I have an application for IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes for the same reason but with movies. I have a full Pokedex for when I'm playing that, movie times etc. Just stuff you never realise the use of until you have it. I would use it for games too if I ever bought retail, instead I have an application that RSS feeds from several different gaming blogs so I can keep up with the latest. Unfortunately most are for consoles and therefore not much use to me..

I got the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. Battery life is horrible which lasts around 1 or 2 days. 4 days max. Call quality is crap because you can't hear shit unless you put it on speaker. Came with 4GB microSDHC which was nice. Doesn't have GPS unlike the previous 5800 model.

Its a touch screen which is cool but sometimes it doesn't recognise your inputs. QWERTY keyboard when titled sideways which makes it easier to SMS. Has Wi-Fi and also supports apps and games from the Ovi store.

I have a Nokia E63, which I bought for $250 pre-paid around October last year. Seeing as I tend not to make calls to people, i figured pre-paid was a good way to go. It's with Virgin which I thought would be annoying as next to nobody I know is on Virgin, so I wouldn't get an discounts, but the $35 recharge cap gives me $180 worth of call and text credit, as well as 20mb worth of internet bandwidth, which when only going on mobile Facebook and ebuddy, lasts a very long time.

The phone itself is pretty good quality, although out of the box you don't get a cord for use with a computer unless you go on a plan, which I found pretty stupid. The menus are a bit more complicated then they should be, but with a 2.0 Megapixel camera, free 1GB memory card and the fact I can go on the internet, I find this to be a mobile which I will keep for years to come.

There are other Nokia E Series mobiles that are similar, such as the E71 and E72, but they are effectively the same, just with PSP-like surface, compared to the plastic E63's, and with a better quality camera. But they are basically the same mobile, and the E63 provides the most bang for your buck.

mmm the E63 is definitely a good one.

I've got a nokia n6220 classic. I love the 5mpxl camera on it, and even though the lense isn't the best quality (eg. an actual 5mpxl camera which is just a camera will take a better photo) it's still very good and has a great flash. Everything else is great, offline GPS etc. but the keypad is a little tacky, but i've gotten used to it

my Bold 9000.. when it functions.. had 2 of them break on me in one month, first one was just due to poor use, second was because I somehow managed to create an ultimate app ****up which rendered the entire phone useless.

Other than that the phone is swwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet... And the keypad is just pure win.

I got a G Arena, looks nice, touch screen isn't too bad. But the whole os is laggy, even camera lags at points, it has a 5mp camera.
I hope to swap with my mum soon, don't really like the phone.

yeah i like it.
sometimes though, when i am browsing the web and click on the 'home' button, it takes a good 10 seconds for the icons on my desktop to appear.
Than and some flash games can run a bit slow and framey.
But then again, I am using an old HTC Magic model. I am sure that with the new android 2.0 and a higher spec handset it would be very awesome.
New androis OS has 7 home screens!

i have a samsung d900i or something to that effect.

I had the HTC touch, but to be honest these touch phones are more of a gimmick to me, nice to look at for a while, fun to play around with, but simply becomes irritating after a while.

so i sold it and got a normal phone.

i would never touch a blackberry, we support them here at work and they are a nightmare.

i want a psp mobile, when sony ever decides to make one.
