Getting the most out of Pinterest

Tano brought this website up for a while back (Tano add MMGN link here) my initial thoughts were this is a bit woosy but it's a good idea. After making my account and spending some time setting up the boards I started getting into it. That went on for a while but like many things I got bored with it. This probably has a lot to do with the home page feed I get, seems like I get a lot of stuff I'm not that interested in like fashion :*O
These past couple of weeks I have started to get back into it, adding more photos and cool images I come across, so far I've stuck with it, also helps when you get a few likes or re-pins from randoms.

Just wondering who else uses this website and if you do please share you account links and I'll follow you.
Here's my account pinterest.com/... still not that much on there yet but I'm working on it.
Also curious as how everyone uses Pinterest to get the most out of it. Do you tweet everything you pin because there is a "Tweet this" button, Facebook link etc?

Who's still be pinning stuff?
Some of the stuff I pin that seem totally random to me gets re-pinned a lot, stuff like a screen grab of all the model ships you can collect in ME1 and ME2.

I remember when a statement was issued from pinterrest for corporations to stop advertising. I'm sick of companies using social media as their personal advertising agency.

I dont mind MMGN on social media, they are a form of social media. Where as a Corp. has the funds to do a proper marketing project.

The company I work for is an example I can think of. The people doing think its the future of marketeering and may even phase out some actually hard working people so they can browse social media all day? did i mention these people are earning a full salary?
Its Lazy and its actually going to put me off using or buying their products/services.

Any new accounts made recently that people would like to share?

One thing I would like for them to sort out is to be able to pin directly from Facebook, not sure what that's not a feature.
I have noticed a few websites especially the ones that host a lot of "lol images" now have a built in Pinit button. So that's a sign it's growing.

I have "Pin It" on my toolbar. Was an automatic install when I signed up. All you do is click Pin It, it picks up all the images on the page and you select which one you want to pin.

I really like how they've done it like that it makes pinning stuff very easy, there's also the option to Tweet the same thing you are pinning.

Looks like they have made a few updates, when pinning something it now grabs info from where you are pinning from for the description which makes things a little quicker.
One thing I don't like that they have added is when the message pops up with "you looks a little fishy please decipher this ball sh** captcha vomited up text to prove it" Any website that uses Catcha should burn in hell [Rage]

Decided to start making more boards instead of lumping most of my stuff onto a generic board. Which is easy enough to do but could get tedious if you want to move a few things across because you can only move one image at the time. Guess that's not a really big issue since you wouldn't be moving stuff around that often.
Got 8 boards going at the moment. How many boards does everyone else have?

As I'm browsing the home page I've noticed that a few people don't set their categories right, I look though "technology" and there's lolcats and clothes mixed in there [MOG]

I wish they would sort out the Facebook photo pinning issue. You still can't anything uploaded to facebook yet everything you don on pinterest is updated on your Facebook page if you set it to do so :S

Left it alone for a while again but these past few weeks I have been pinning a lot of the images I post the retro gamers facebook page www.facebook.com/... Can't pin directly from Facebook so everything has to be uploaded here or pinned from the source. Seems like a lot of people like the stuff I've been pinning, basically I've been hitting the "pin this" button and moving on not really checking what's happening on the other end. Today I decided to have a decent explore around and I'm now finding lots of stuff I like, think I'll pop in more often and hunt around for cool stuff I can share here as well.

Woo this thread looks like a one man conversation :P
Well one thing I have forgotten to do was give my boards add a category. Sorted that out now and have decided to break up some of my boards into smaller ones to help keep things a little tidier.
Starting to explore categories more as well and I'm finding some pretty cool stuff, if you stick to the home page it's all crap posted by chicks :*O

Here's a good tip, remove all email notifications from this site, look what happened to me in little over a couple of weeks.

Yep nearly all those deleted items are from Pinterest...

One thing I have noticed when pinning images especially from out gallery it seems to not grab the image at it's original size even though I am on the actual image page. Is there anyway around it or am I doing something wrong?

I wanted to share some of my Nvidia Surround multi-screen screenshots on Pinterest. I upload them to Photobucket like I do with many other things but when I got to press the "Pin it" button it only grabs the center section of the screenshot. Even if I have selected "view image" from the browser right click menu and the screenshot is the only thing displayed onscreen at the time.
Is there anyway around this?
