out of 855 gigs worth of mp3s..
any ideas. im a twit with maths... [Facepalm]

Don't you have iTunes? It should give you a number down the bottom with the amount of gigs (space) it uses and how many days worth of music you have.

Also, You can't really give an accurate estimate since some songs take up more space than others (depends on how long each song goes for)

855 megabyte sounds a little more possible.. which is about 200.

Well the average song is 8mb? So 125 a gigabyte. 108,675 songs, roughly, with a lot of assumptions.

What codec are you using to rip them, and what are their bit rates?

It really depends on that. With 855 gigs I wouldn't be surprised if they're all in wave format lol...

Cbf doing maths but I have 47 gigs which is 8400 songs, just to give you an idea. They are mostly ripped to mp3 format with an average bit rate of 192 kbps.

A quick way would be right click your music folder, hit properties and it will tell you how many files you have in it.

But still over 800GB [WTF]

Mine is 16GB :P
