Yeah Apple is such an arrogant company that they even try and own the style of how a tablet should look..... makes me want to smash my iphone, ipad, mac and ipod. :P

I think they have gone too far with this effort, and like mentioned in the article why haven;t they gone after all the companies that make knock off products look exactly like iPhones and iPads?

The infringement is not so much over the tablets, but the smartphones.

I own a galaxy S and I can tell you now that it really is like the iphone, but due to having android on it, mine is nothing like apple's product.
Just the general shape and a single physical button at the bottom are similar.

Another Galaxy S owner here. Mine is rooted on 2.3 and runs a totally different launcher so the interface isn't anything near comparable the the iPhone. Externally though, how different can a touchphone appear?

In how many ways can a company present menus and icons? Every time Apple tries to sue it just seems so stupid and trivial.

Take the case of Apple V Creative over the media player interface many many years ago. Apple was counter-sued for that after Creative proved they had the UI style out there first.

Most but not all, like all things I guess. Reminds me of my work mate he's a big Mac fan (likes Mac but not interested in the rest of their range of gizmos). Anyway he got a shock when one of the IT gurus at work told and showed him a few stories about Jobs and Apple. there's a lot of dark and shady stuff that's happened in the past.

theyre trying to sue samsung because their stuff looks like an iphone. which is fair enough. but its things liek theyre trying to sue because it is rectangular and has round corners. theyre isnt much you can do to change that, lots of stuff has it. Also because of the way the box is. they think because it has a box where you open the lid and see the phone and nothing else, tis a clone of their design. Suing for the user interface, because its a graphical row of icons.

Its who their suing because samsung provides most of the technology used in their iphone and ipad. lg now supply the screens but samsung provides the nands and processing chips at a very good price. If samsung decide to go " you were mean to us. were not making stuff for you anymore." iphone quantities will drop and the price will rise. alot.
