Computer Swap Meets

6021 Views 38 Posts PC Hardware
Just wondering if anyone here goes to swap meets and where. I think it would be nice to keep everyone update with what's going on in their local area and when. Swap meets, markets, trade shows, where ever you can snag a bargain please feel free to share.

Every second Sunday there's a computer swap meet at the Springvale Town Hall on Springvale Rd in Melbourne. (I know this one show hops around to a number of other locations as well) The whole Town hall is packed with good deals including software, hardware and even console modding services. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.
Computer Swap? Never heard of one

Everyone is either going to be in Melbourne or the Gold Coast...

But I through awesome LAN parties!!

Actually, no. I dont.
I've been to the Springvale computer market in Melbourne a few times.
I never see any computer related stuffs where i live not to many things like this
In Perth they have Flea Markets every Sunday. Theres alot of stuff but people usually go there to get cheap mods and laptops. Quite good actually. Picked up a decent Western Digital hardrive from there for about half the retail price.
My Grade 3-5 teacher used to talk about them all the time. Sheesh that was like 10 years ago

Yes I've heard that, I've been too slack to make the hike down there. It's 30 minute drive

They got busted a while back, and I haven't gone back since. All the illegal Ninty products *coughR4cough* were eventually caught on by Nintendo who work next door...

flemington every first sun of every month +1
hey just say u bought something at one of those swap meets and it stops working how would u get ur money back or claim warranty?
I usually go to Springvale's on a Sunday when I have spare time.
Ballina is a very boring place, and no-one games, especially on PC(I only know a handful of people who do)
Sometimes when its at the showgrounds. Not much normally though and the people are pretty scary.
There's not really any where I live, I sometimes go to ones in Canberra, but not often.
Some times i go to the Computer market at spring vale on Sundays to buy stuff for my computer.
do u get returns if u buy something that stops working such as ram from swapmeets?

You'd have to contact the vendor/person you bought the RAM from.
The ones in Vic, or atleast ones I've been to (Camberwell and Box Hill) are really just a big MSY-styled cluster****. Prices are pretty much the same as MSY... I don't really reccomend it.

PS. Carribean market is a **** hole. Wantirna ****s all over it.
Anyone going to the one in Springvale tomorrow?
i'll go if you go .

just wear something bright and stick a mysite sticker on it .
I went to a computer show once to buy an external CD writer, but I'd go there again to get some parts to build a rig.
