I know we have a general discussion about graphics cards but I though a separate one about Dedicated PhysX cards maybe useful.
Adding a dedicated PhysX card is probably something I wouldn't go out of my way to do but since I have a spare 9600gt sitting on my desk doing nothing I decided to install it.

I'm still messing around with this thing trying to see if there's any noticeable performance gains. Just downloaded PhysX drivers from Nvidia then and I'll run 3D mark at some point.

Also just saw this card from nvidia www.evga.com/ which is a combination card that uses a GTX 275 for graphics and a GTS250 dedicated for PhysX.

Surely I am doing this wrong :/ or is it normal that I get this score from my GTS250 and 8500GT?

What settings should I change for a better result? :O

And yeah, it's version 1.2.0, is 1.1.1 better?

Looks like it goes straight for my 480 and ignores my 9800GT Physx card, here's the scores for V1.1.1

No MSAA @1920x1080

I found it strange that the temps on my 480 dropped when I unplugged my second monitor from it and plugged it into my Physx card.

www.pccasegear.com/... If you changed the PCI plate on this card it might make a good sized Physx card, now if I could only find some dimensions on that cooler.

Running two monitors on one card does raise its idle temp by 5-10*c on average. (for me anyway) i have heard that some people have changes of 20*c when plugging in a second monitor.

Looking forward to getting my slim 9800GT so I can use my third monitor again and do some benchmarks.

Well as some may know I finally got Nvidia surround working but one thing I've noticed is that any game that uses Physx really makes the FPS drop even with 2 cards in SLI. The resolution is so high it needs all the help it can get if I want to run the game at high settings, so I'm shopping around on ebay for slim 9800gt or a slim 8800gt.

if your willing to mod a lot of them are single slot with just a dual pci bracket. quick hacksaw to the bracket and you got a single slot one

Most have tall coolers on them, I physically only have space for a slim single slot card.

SLI would be better since it would be used in more games. I've seen so many water cooled setups that don't have their Physx card cooled, they don't do that much work so they don't get that hot.

Well with my newly acquired 9800GT single slot card I have to say that I am pleased with how much stress it takes off my main GPUs in games that feature Physx. I was just wondering though, would it be worth overclcoking the Physx card? Using EVGA Precision I can adjust the memory clock.
