Full Sized Cases

I was originally going to get another mid sized case but with better cooling than the one I have now but now started to see some appeal in getting a full sized one like the Thermaltake Armor www.pccasegear.com/
Is there anyone here that has a full sized case that thinks they are just overkill or great for people that like to fiddle with their computers?
Overkill, that case be, unless I had some essential requirement for 12 harddrives and 10 PCI slots.

IT's little brother www.pccasegear.com/ struggles with top end graphics cards which I intend to purchase at some point in the future.
So you're seeking the actual case length rather than the height? I knew that when I picked a small case that I would limit what cards I could fit into this thing. Airflow is the main concern, depending on what equipment you toss in it.
get yourself an antec 1200
Yeah I'd probably go the 1200 over that but on topic, they ARE great if you fiddle around inside because there is HEAPS of room, but for LAN's they are ridiculous... mine is really massive so its cumbersome and it weighs something like 30kg (does have caster wheels though).

I probably wouldn't suggest them unless you really needed it, stuff like the Antec 900, CM690 are a better size. They are still big cases that can fit lots of stuff and good to fiddle around in, but they aren't that extra big bigger that makes them weigh as much as the moon and hard to even get your arms around.
The CM690 looks a little to plain for me
When it comes to mid sized cases I like the Thermaltake Armor, Antec 900 and NZXT Tempest Case www.pccasegear.com/
Not sure which way to go since they all offer good cooling.
I really like the HAF932 not sure if I'm the only one though :$

I'm probably going with the CM Storm Sniper because its a smaller case good for lanning with good cooling and its wide enough to fit ridiculous hardware. Seems a good compromise between handling everything you throw at it and being portable noooot very good looking though.

I actually don't like the Armor looks wise. Actually I don't like all three you listed lol but I do have a 900... mostly for cooling
mmmmm
antec 900
yummo
HAF 932 all the way

That looks like a nice case but I think I'll get the Antec 900 now.

It's an Australian store and they are located in Melbourne but they wont let you pick up from their store

Ha! I found that amusing.

Do you plan to turn it into a server, guyv? Get the biggest, most LEDest and coolest looking one then! jks. If it was me, I'd go the mid sized one.

How annoying...

Basically yeah, what's even more annoying is that their only 15 minutes away from me and they will still only offer delivery.
lol
there are at least 1 store that i know of in Perth that are like that.
could easily drive out there and pick it up same day, but you have to wait at least a 24hour turnaround on goods

but it is a 1 man only operation so i have respect for him.

Those antec 900's are really LED'd up. and you can fit, oh i dont know, 12 hard drives? more maybe. will easily fit a gx295 afaik

getting a mid sized case is all well and good, but even the ones with sideways mounting harddrives dont leave much room to spare, even for a regular sized 9600gt!

900 can only hold 9 HDD's MAX

or swapping them around a bit with opticals .

the antec 1200 supports 12 .

don't you think that's why they made the model numbers like that ?

the LEDfans antec supply look fugly .

black matte fan with a blue LED, ugh .

funny thing is, they don't sell the fans that come with the 1200/900 separately, they sell the exact same thing however, it's transparent with led (: tricool i think ..

Haaeeeyyyy.....

I see a pattern there!
lol
never paid attention to how many they could hold
i was talking to a mate that has one and i mentioned one of those coolermast hold 4 hdd's in 3 optical bays modular device caddys and he said that his case had 4 of them.
obviously he forgot to mention that they only hold 3 each
so, my bad
9 HDs is more than enough, I have 3 in my case now and I might chuck in a 4th if needed.
The Antec Nine Hundred Case looks better than the slightly more expensive Antec Nine Hundred Case two IMO.

the 2 is just cause people were complaining about the dust .

only thing different in the two is that it's all black in side, uglier look and fanfilters ...

imo 900 is wayyyyy better

Its a better size than the 1200 too. 1200 is massive and considering the 900 is made of ****ing steel I can only imagine how much an even bigger version of it would weigh its big enough to hold anything and its big enough to work in comfortably and its heat performance is impressive. Only problem with the 900 is it looks **** and all of the fans controllers are inside the damned case so you have to open it to change the switches the 1200 has it on the back...
Get an older Aopen Full tower case. All the new ones are just rubbish really...

All the new ones meaning every new case from every new brand apart from Aopen?

+1. I have the Antec Twelve Hundred. Its great, but my parents seem to think its a bit noisy. But it has very good cooling and looks great!
