I did hear dude to the economic crisis that the prices of some computer parts went up in price but I was completely gob smacked when I asked the other day how much a Intel Q6600 cost. I built my computer over half a year ago and the CPU cost me $250 but now that very same chip cost $330!!! WTF
I didn't think it would be that bad considering that the i7 is out.

Well if the Q6600 is $330 thats pretty balls, you can get the new Phenom II 840 BE for another $70 and it beats the Core i7 in every game test I've seen

If AMD take their next set even further I'm sure my next computer is going to be AMD based...

Yeah if that's going to be the common price trend for Intel I think a lot of people will be switching over.

The E8400 and Q6600 were evenly priced at one point. The gap is pretty big now, guessing thats demand

This happened when the aussie dollar dived from it's high of 97 US Cents to 67 US Cents about, oh i dunno, 4-5 months ago! My brother bought his HD4870X2 for $700. A month later it was $650, now its $840 (it did top $900). Everything gets more expensive when the aussie dollar dives.
