Hey just wondering if anyone could give me some help. Put a computer together for 1 of the other members on this site and am having trouble with in on its first boot. Turn it on fans start up computer beeps gets to bios screen waits a bit then restarts again. Any help would be appreciated thx.

Everything connected properly?

Can you go into BIOS setup before it restarts?

Boot priority might be looking for a HDD instead of optical if windows has not been installed yet.

yeah only had 1 PS/2 but it definitely works as i am using it now.

See if the keyboard can boot the PC with spacebar or numlock. or just keep mashing del, f8, f10, f11 or watever it may be to get into bios once the pc starts running.

does the boot, hang then restart keep Rinse n repeatin?

Maybe check that everything inside has power? e.g. the graphics card might need a power cable of its own. I've had problems with the graphics card not having enough power and stopping the computer from booting.

Yeah its just keeps going around in a circle i get a display but and have just been mashing keys but no respons.. @whaling yeah everything has power including the video card.

Which slots are the ram seated in?
Try changing them over to the other coloured slots.

Could be a dud part somewhere. Try booting it up without the GPU installed. I'd suggest booting up with just one stick of RAM but looks like you've done that already.

unplug the keyboard and try booting it up, then plug it back in when you get windows up (is it a razer keyboard)

I got a bit of a pain in the arse problem, My onboard sata ports will not detect anything. I have tried a couple of HDD but the on't see them. Even when plugged in you can't hear them spin when plugged
