Pongo's Case Mod: Project Lemonade

over the rest of this year, i plan to be putting away PC parts i can salvage to make a new PC build for my mum, anyway, i found this case in the garage that can take a Micro ATX Motherboard, and its like 7 years old. pretty much, im going to mod the thing out, its going to be a slow process, but i am picking up shifts at work slowly, and the case may be done by late june (my birthday is in there, so i will have plenty of money. Today, i plan to sand it down and make it look better, and give it an overall clean, and salvage what i can from it, so i am taking my camera up to the garage, and will show the pics later today.

nah, i just called it lemonade cos there were three cans and a bottle infront of me while making the title, ok, so i have some ideas, im going to vacuum the acumulated dust and then chuck some pictures on here. im thinking a black very similar to guyvers. and im thinking about putting a fan in the case, i have to reconstruct it to see where i can put crap though.

its ten years old, i cant believe it has uATX. i got rid of the packard bell logo and that, the top is chromed, and the side is.... getting there, i need to get rid of all the pop rivets, though once i do i dont know how i will support the mobo, i might have to let my welding skills out.

or you could borrow a rivet gun off someone and just put more pop rivets into it, not that hard ey. They don't cost much either

are you going to try and do what Guyver tried? to give it a polished top?
Maybe you should just sand and polish the WHOLE case! maybe that wouldnt look so good with a plastic front...make something out of metal. That would be sweet.

i had a look at the motherboard on the gigabyte site, and it said MicroATX (uATX)

LOL man you guys keep some prehistoric ****! I throw cases like that away, hell I would have thrown my project case away when I got my new PC and its a perfectly serviceable mid tower that doesn't really look bad either

Nice project case either way glad to see more of these happening!

okie dokey, an update. I will being doing more today, i hope to get the other door sanded, but this is a pic of what i have done.

that pic is actually a little outdated, almost all the door on the left is done. and the front bezel has been sanded, i still have to figure out a way to slim it down.
