Project Ninja - Cosmos Side Window Mod

...yeah it's all i could come up with at short notice

Well my order from PCCG arrived

The goal is to have a high performance PC that's virtually silent, so I ordered silent fans, vibration dampening items and if that doesn't do the trice I'll get some sound deadening material. (you can by sheets of it from Jcar). I ordered 5x nexus silent white fans, PSU vibration dampener, white cold cathode kit, BitsPower drive bay reservoir and white tubing. I also wanted the optional Cosmos S clear window to replace the meshed side panel that comes with the case but PCCG was sold out I'll be transferring all the hardware from my HAF932 to the Cosmos S.
So since the clear side panel was out of stock I decided to make my own and i thought some of you maybe interested in seeing how easy it is to do.

Standard side panel dissembled, 4 screws and the rest just pops out.

I cut some 3mm perspex to size(roughly i might add)

4 holes had to be drilled to allow the original fasteners to be used, it was a little tricky to line up but not that bad.

BAM! fit first shot, sure the edges are a little rough but you can't see that part anyway.

Needed to add washers because the perspex was thinner than the bracket that held the mesh panel and I made the holes a little big.

All of this was done in less than an hour in between doing other things at work. Yeah I was getting some funny looks while doing it

www.pccasegear.com/ I saved myself 50 bucks and everything still looks like it all belongs.

That's what else I ordered, since I'll be going for a black and white theme I'll be removing the red LED fan from the hard drive cage and replacing it with one of my Xigmatec fans. I'll post some more pics when it all comes together.
Oh, your gammods order already came..

I've been at it for a while now, dam leak testing takes ages

Swapped the front red LED fan for my Xigmatec.

As you can seen things are still a little messy in there but I'll fix that up soon. This case is longer than the HAF so a lot of cable couldn't be router neatly such as the signal wire for the water pump. I'll extend that tomorrow.

and I still haven't got the back panel to fit nicely yet.
There's bugger all room back there for cable management.
dude, that looks utterly awesome, good job
oh Wow, that does look totally awesome. I like the white liquid cooling especially
Thanks guys, I've still got a lot of work to do if I want it to look "clean" those cables are a nightmare. But even with the side off the fans are so quite and there's no vibration. All that stuffing around with rubber dampeners may have done the trick.
Wow, that looks really cool.
Very nice work Guyvor

So rubber dampeners are pretty okay, then? My three exhaust fans are rather loud.
UV CC's!
@Desi
I've added them to all the fans installed as well as a dampener on the PSU and radiator. Even though this case has metal bars as feet I can't feel any vibration trough my desk like I did with the HAF that had no dampeners at all. Right now the nosiest components in my case is the water pump and the graphics card under load.

I finally got the back panel on and it was a friggen nightmare to do, there's bugger all room back there, hence why my cable management is questionable. When money permits I'll upgrade to a modular PSU.

I placed the radiator closer to the front so it can draw in cool air from the front of the case since the two top drive bays are vacant. Also having it in this position makes it easy to upgrade to a triple radiator if I choose to.

So tempted to bin that Physx card and get another GTX295.
Bin it to my address.
Give me that card for my rig plz

I can send it back when i get new gpu...

E~ or to Rook when im done
wow thats nice man compared to mine lol
lol ill has the physics card, i dont even have a card

still on onboard...
Hehe separate Physx card.

Water cooling looks so fresh and clean.
so can borrow yes? or if the price is right purchase... (9600GT im talking about )

Don't worry it's not doing a great deal, it's just there because I had it spare.
hmmm I could probably wedge a fan on the 9600 now since the PSU sits lower in this case compared the HAF.

If I could reduce the cable mess a little more it would look cleaner but it's tough with this case.
