need help formatting a 2tb wd my book essential external hd from ntfs to fat 32 really need help if anyone know how to do this just i dont know what to do , it is possible im sure
that would be appreciated its probably easy to do just im hopeless at this and have hit a wall and run out of patience and turned to you guys for help

Not sure if you can do that in Windows these days, at least not with larger drives. Probably best to just download a program that can do it.

I'm assuming this is to get it to work on Mac and PC? I think you can even do exFAT now that removes that bullshit 4gb filesize limit...

If you're using Windows 7 you should be able to right click on the drive and select 'Format'.

do you know any good free programs?
been told using windows to do has a limit and that 2tb is past its limit i downloaded 1 but it only a trial and would only do up to 30gb so i deleted it its so i can use it for the ps3 as ntfs wont work needs to be fat32 but ill try wat yous said but anything else yous could assist me with would be fantastic

That could be true, I've never tried it with anything that large. I'm sure someone who does this sort of thing all the time will be along soon.

Western digital has its own program to convert to fat32.

Yeah I couldn't select anything but NFTS on mine but maybe needs to be in Disk Management or some shit :/ or maybe a 2TB drive not compatible... I have no idea. Honestly I've so rarely needed to give a **** about formatting drives I just don't know anything about it :P

All I know is that 3TB drives can be a right bitch sometimes if you accidentally get some bloody Windows files on them [Rage]

Windows won't format a large drive to fat32 natively, you need a third party program.
Hence why I mentioned the WD program.

im doing it the maual way i think its doing it right the hd is flashing but its saying 0 with a line under the 0 im hoping it moves to a 1 or higher so i know if im doing it right
