Laptop slow?

hi , my hp quad core laptop seems to be running very slow latley

ie trying to bring up a browser or even calculator is painful some times it has 8 gig ram and pleanty of hard drive space
and i cant even seem to update itunes??
speaking of which is there a way to share my ipad3 between 2 pcs with out having bloody reset the darn thing ?

and also wondering if a reinstall of windows might help out
its almost 18months old

Same thing happend to my laptop.

Just reinstall Windows, that seems to be the easiest way.

You also could partition the HDD and install it again on that one so you keep the old windows just incase

im thinking about doing a reinstal now, oh itunes keeps asking in the re instal itunes and updating it it keeps saying an error
writing to (86) \itunes .resorces\es.iproj\musicintro.nib\ob.xib or some crap like that wtf does all that mean ?
I had no trouble updating on the pc?

Try uninstalling and deleting crap you don't use or need. If not format the thing and do a fresh install.

Clear all the temp internet files and possibly do a disk defrag.. simple things like that sometimes improve performance

Check temperatures, make sure your laptop isn't overheating.

Otherwise, like everyone else seems to be suggesting, it's time to reformat.

You can always carry round an external hard drive with you if you run out of space. Remember SSD improve your boot time and computers speed but take up more room than the same size of a normal hard drive.

I bet you're running more than one antivirus.McAfee is notorious for piggybacking on other programs, even legit ones such as flash. Also it could be hard drive or RAM problems

use CC Cleaner to clear out your temp files/folders defrag once a week, delete programs you dont need, even stop unwanted programs from running at startup, backup your media, music/photos

I have no idea , it just keeps going round n round not able to start, might take to Mr Hardly Normals and see what they can do, still under warranty , pain in the frakin ass [Facepalm] [Shifty]

Have you done a RAM test yet? I had that with my laptop, it was running really slow and randomly turned off (blue screen) and it needed a new RAM chip, this was a HP as well.

took my hp back to normals today, so will see what happens but seing my flexi rent is due to finish i may look of chucking hp out the window and go back to toshiba, my old kevin 07 toshiba is still going good but its too slow for what i want these days so looking at this thing
