Turning off your PC at night?

hi guys, just wondering,...
do you turn off your pc / laptop off at night?
i dont download much but some times i might stream stuff to
my laptop in my room at night, then when i go to bed i turn it off
or sometimes put it in sleep mode, does sleep mode cause any probs or same with hibernating??

Biggest issue with leaving a PC on is the electricity usage. If this doesn't worry you, then there is no problem leaving it on. Wearing of parts should not be an issue.

I will usually shut down my PC, but I put my MBP into sleep mode.

I like to watch movies/tv shows as I'm in bed and sometimes I fall asleep only to wake up to the whirring noise of the PC. That can get annoying, but it's my own fault, I guess. =P

Some routers have USB file sharing, but not many. Another option is to buy a nas.

i cant stand my computer on while trying to sleep, the noise is too loud for me, and if i do fall asleep its like half asleep half awake so then i feel like crap when i get up properly. so i have to shut it down every night.

This. I have an SSD do starting up isn't exactly a slow process so there's no reason to leave it on.

I have one PC that's always on, that's my media PC. It's a low powered system when compared to my main PC. That PC is used for streaming to all the other computers and for downloading, basically it's a half arsed server/media center.
My main PC gets powered off when I'm not using it, I even put it to sleep when I plan on not using it for an hour.

During sleep the last state the pc was in is saved to your ram, during hibernate the last state your pc was I'm is saved to the hard drive.
Sleep is quicker to turn back on but it uses more power.
