Okay question time:

When you rinse yer face after a shave do you use cold or hot water? Also is the rinse water hot or cold before you apply aftershave?

I always thought to rinse with warm water because it open the pores meaning the aftershave lotion gets in there and does its work. When I went to my local shaving spot he told me the opposite [WTF]

When you are lathering up to get ready for a shave.. you wash with hot water

When you are quickly rinsing your face between passes you wash with hot water

when you have finished your shave.. you wash with cold water.. and apply after shave

Pores do open and close, but they don't use muscles to do it. It's more that the warm water makes the capillaries in your skin expand, so your skin gets a bit 'wider', while cold water makes the capillaries shrink.

But yeah, you use the hottest possible water throughout, and ice cold water at the very end.
