recommendations of which brush to purchase?

the $33 dollar ones aren't much more than 30 so if they're better quality I would consider buying them as well.

There is no universal standard for badger hair grades, so its all relative to the manufacturer. For Frank Shaving brushes, the order of quality from lowest to highest is: Pure Badger, Finest Badger, Best Badger, Silver Tip Badger. The higher the grade, the softer the hair and the greater the water retention.

Considering that the difference between the Pure badger and Silver Tip Badger is only $13, I definitely recommend the Silver Tip Badger.

Not this week, can't organize it until next cos I'm not around this weekend. Gonna order everything in one hit so they'll all arrive around the same day or so. I know I want the Merkur HD 34C, but still shopping for the cream, brush, aftershave Nivea thing, am I missing something else?

Went to Myer and DJ, they no longer stock prestigious shaving razors :(

I wanna call these "instruments" cos like a Doctor, you need god hands otherwise there will be blood! [MOG]

im pretty new to bowl lathering myself so maybe desi can help you

i just got a $2 ceramic bowl from kmart

never heard of plastic being used :P

another good thing is for the bowl to be able to hold heat so it keeps the lather nice and warm

Lather = cream + super smexy beating with your brush

But the brush is holding some hot water right

You fill your sink bowl with hot water

chuck your safety razor brush and bowl in there

let the bowl heat up... let the brush get soaked with water

take the bowl out.. tip all the water thats in it out..

take out your brush give it 1 - 2 firm shakes to get some of the water out..but it'll still be holding hot water.. youre not shaking all the water out
