So it's obvious that Apple will end up releasing the iPhone 5 in 2012, and we all know that rumours and speculation will be running rife across the internet.

So here's a thread where we can share rumours, and our own ideas on what Apple could, or should include in their next generation iPhone.

The latest rumours talk about the iPhone 5 having a full aluminium backing case, replacing the classy class backing from the iPhone 4 and 4S.

Personally I'd love to see a brushed aluminium backing on the new iPhone, I think it would look really classy.

I hear on the grapevine that they're going to throw a quad-core processor into the "iPhone 5"... That will certainly help with the speed, particularly if they boost up the capabilities of the camera to support full HD recording and take particularly high qualuty photos.

Get ready for a redesign as well people :)
I am so excited!!

- On another note the Galaxy S 3 should be out in June as well according to my source.

Does your "source" happen to work in the factory that is making the iPhones, iPods, iPads and all Samsung mobiles and tablets.

The first generation iPad and the iPhone 4 were released with a considerably smaller gap back in 2010, so it's not like it hasn't happened before; they're two devices aimed at different markets.

Its interesting times right now. The problem is that a lot of rumours floating around its hard to point out whats really going to happen.

The fact is that I will still be on my contract if a new iPhone comes out so I dont really care :P. I do but their is nothing really that we can do. A lot of of people got hyped up about the iPhone5 last year and turned out to be the iPhone 4s. People get their hopes up and when the products comes out and its not what the expected they just got mad.

For the iPad 3 I think it will be the same size, better video camera but they will try to make it lighter and faster as usual.

For me tough, I have an ipad and it does everything I need it to do. It will be great to get an iPad 3 when that comes out but it would be impulse. Would rather get a Macbook Air and be more productive on it.

Cant wait though, you know how everyones gets when a new Apple Product comes out. [monkey]

they're coming too close one after another, I really don't see the need for an iPhone 5 while no real new features are added (what are going to add next, a grater?), same for the iPad. See the iPod touch case.

I think we can say that the camera will be improved with possibilities of the front facing camera to be HD. They will def make it a lot faster. In terms of size it's hard to say. With many other phone companies bigger is better. I'm not to sure apple will go down that track but we could see a suttle increase in the size.

I also believe Apple is looking at gorilla glass which is soppose to prevent the glass from shattering.

In time we shall see

People, they generally do it in the same time frame every year, last year they changed it to October to fit in with the iPods; it'd be silly to think it'd be in a month other than October.

Word on the street is September, but regardless it should be coming in the next few months. If I were you I would definitely hold out, it won't be too far away. iOS 6 has already been seeded to developers a few times, it's just around the corner.
