Borderlands Medal

Medals available: 25

So how many of you guys pre-ordered this game on Steam and keep clicking on the game in your menu just in case it got released early?

How to get one:

To get this Borderlands medal stapled to your profile page all you need to do is answer the following question, BUT! make sure you add some effort to it so we have something interesting to read.

Question: What PC game to you find to have the best online co-op mode and why?

A pretty simple question but give it a little thought before you post "ZOMG L4D!!!1!" also make note that the question is about co-op games not just online verses games.

Rules:
 • Your response must answer both aspects of the question, which game and why!
 • Do not copy another persons response.
 • If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
One that i've actually played that i can remember would be Time Crisis 3. Co-op in that game makes it more enjoyable since you kill dudes with your friend/s but it also makes it easier for unlocking stuff since your friend is there making sure you don't take all the bullets

Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

ZOMG L4D!!!1!

because it is teh shiz and u can talk as a team really well and call ur allys to help you and its just the best co-op ive played
Question. Permission to stab Rookie?
What if I haven't played any co-op online games on PC? Do I use a game I've played over a LAN connection?

Going with my guess of what I'm meant to do with my question being the case (which it is for me - unless being allies works in the game and not just how I'm now describing) Ages of Empires had good co-op where you have 2 people play as the same colour and you have fun of working together plus getting annoying when the other person moves the troops you wanted to move on you. Its the best online co-op game mode I've played since it is cool or something along those lines.
Does TF2 count?
Nah, I'll say L4D. It has elements of actual teamwork, which includes helping each other out and not just who can last the most zombies, which is cool. It's also a survival game, so teamwork is essential.
Errr L4D, because it's my favourite game and that's self explanatory.
I have been racking my brain a bit and can really not think of anything other than Left 4 Dead as an online PC cop-op game.
It has it all.
Fast paced gameplay. Epic amounts of teamwork. Easy to communicate. Easy to find a game of it. and very good varying levels of difficulty.

The only other game that I can think of that I have played co-op anywhere near as much would be halo - combat evolved on the original xbox.
This forum.

I just helped JPrincess think up that answer.

Honest.

COOPERATIVE!
Left 4 Dead; Why? Because the aim of the game is to survive, the key to maximizing you and your teams survival is team work.
Left 4 Dead maximises the capabilities of a Co-Op games. Makes it my answer, and its also one of my favourite games.
Left 4 Dead of course, well, that's pretty much the only PC game I have that includes co-op. Great gameplay and it's also great fun, especially Left8Dead
Sorry to be a copier, but L4D for sure, because it was practically made for co-op, and it's just so accessible and easy to just get into with some friends.
Definately Left 4 Dead, as the whole game depends on working as a team to survive, and the gameplay is fast-paced, action-packed and is easy to communicate with your team mates.

E: Oh, this is a bit of a copy off the others...well, I didn't mean to. I just wrote what I thought. Sorry.
Mmm well left for dead since its the only game that I have thats Co Op on my PC.
borderlands because it is not even required to be in the same area, yet if you are playing with 3 others it is ill advised to do so.
Medals granted
Awwe I didn't get the medal ):

Yay said: Question. Permission to stab Rookie?

Permission granted!
I'm going to have to agree with everyone and say L4D, it really is the best Co-op game I've played because its not just an option added afterwards, the game was designed from the ground up around the concept and in doing so has somewhat become the benchmark of how it should be done. You really NEED to work together to succeed, if you wander of you'll end up Hunter or Smoker food and be completely powerless to stop it!

It seems almost gimmicky to write about it, needing to help your team mates, but it works so well with the game you don't even notice it when playing, and it FORCES teamwork.

I mean if you lose 1 player at the start particularly in Versus where theres no respawn and smarter zombies, 9/10 its over and you're merely trying to get as far as you can to get your score higher before you inevitably die.
Ok, *puts hands over face*
*speaks uberly fast*
halo3 because it has awesome online and all my friends play it and it is good except for the fact that XBL is flooded with whiney 3 year olds, that and custom maps.
*Grants self medal and runs*
PERMABAN!

I did almost say Perfect Dark but thats only because the game was so stupidly good, the Co-Op was just brilliant in direct reflection of the game. It didn't implement anything different, it was tacked on like most Co-Op is, thusly L4D takes the cake and eats it.

Ok, yes i do find halo the most overated thing since jebus, but it had great online, and i spent many days wasting away with mates on it.
