So I have heard that tonight or tomorrow, DICE is going to announce some news regarding BF3.

And I have also heard that this news will be about cross-platform gaming. Note that I didn't say multi-platform, I said cross-platform. :D

If they go ahead with this, it will be quite interesting. I haven't heard much of cross-platform initiatives since Microsoft called off their experiment after they found that mediocre PC gamers smashed great console gamers thanks to the advantages of keyboard and mouse.

If this does go ahead, though, then the push for first-party keyboard and mouse control on consoles will be very strong indeed, and consoles will come that much closer to becoming little PCs. ^_^

Since there is a fighter jet, then it's safe to assume that the maps are going to be bigger. And because the maps are going to be bigger, it's also natural to assume that the player limit per server will be higher, too!

I hope they remember to add mod support.

You realise if they do that consoles will have lock on aiming?

AA/AF and everything that makes graphics good makes it harder to see people. I've never ever seen a game where higher graphics help you

I hope they make this PC centric. BC2 should have shown them we ARE an important market for them. So I wanna see better netcode and mods. Also **** off with mouse acceleration and tiny FoV.

Yes. But it was put together for consoles, and in such a hurry, that the API was so messy that they couldn't add mod support.

Just reading about BF3... sounds actually pretty amazing. They made sure to heavily emphasize they are paying special attention to PC :D they better not be ****ing around [Shifty] They will cop the biggest shit storm if they don't back up these claims...

Yes eat facts! I think 1.5 is essentially the one they modded to work on PC too. I'm expecting some pretty awesome stuff from 2.0, from the sounds of it they have some quasi radiosity thing going, I would love to see that in action in games finally.
