Also you main question doesn't give anyone any idea what games you are interested in. We don't know what games to mention if you don't say what you are into, shooters, racing, sports games etc.

Go edit your first post with more information. Then wait patiently for a response. It is Saturday night so don't expect too much to happen though.

I think the OP would really enjoy the Call of Duty series. You probably won't like CoDs 1 through to 5; just start from Modern Warfare 2. [MOG]

IF you like RPG's the mass effect series is an easy one to get into because it is a shooter RPG and not fantasy.
Ricing i would have to say burnout paradise.
If you have never played a flight game Microsoft flight is free, but its the bare essentials.
Shooter you cant go past Battlefield.
And buy some interesting things when they are on sale on Steam.
