Anyone else play this? I don't have ArmaII but I think I'll get it just for this mod. Love the concept of this, need a decent survival horror game.

They're not all fast.

Had my first go of this tonight, and it's definately like everyone's said. Unforgiving. You've got to be super careful where you go (and how quickly) or you'll be spotted by zombies and be in trouble. It's not like L4D where you'd back yourself to take out a small group, they're a real challenge at times. Especially considering you're always fighting for ammo.

Pretty tricky starting off by yourself without much... first go I found a map, but was killed shortly after. Second time I found both a rifle and crossbow - but no ammo. Got chased down by 6 zombies for a few miles and eventually ran out of ammo after felling 3.

Just spent my first minutes in the game world, this is BRUTAL! Exactly what I've always wanted from a zombie game, and it's only going to get better. Might even start a daily blog about this for a week after all the E3 craziness dies down....

Damn this game is intense. Met up with six people as we stalked through a town, only to be taken down by two bandits and a horde of zombies.

Lost all my gear, and now I'm back in the wilderness. This is brutality at its finest.

What server are you playing on Heller?

I just got a M16A4 ACOG from the Airfield, but one random zombie managed to knock me over unconcious. When I awoke, I had to fend off 10 zombies and then bandage myself. Lost so much blood... can hardly see a thing.

Trying to get some friends to come and give me a blood transfusion, but they're all on the other side of the map.

Is there any vehicles? Chopper runs pick up survivors and dropping supplies would be cool.

Do you need a specific ARMA2?

Yeah, there are cars, buses, motorbikes, helicopters etc. Though pretty rare in multiplayer. They're all busted and you need to find bits and pieces to put them back together (along with stopping to get fuel).

You need to get ARMA: Combined Ops (ARMA2+Expansion). On steam it's $29.99. I payed that and reckon it's worth it.

Am I going to have to do an overhaul on the keymapping when I finally start to play?

I remember playing the arma 2 demo and quit after about 10 minutes cuz i pressed every god damn key but could not get into the ****ing choppah! [Rage] [Rage] [Rage]

Um, maybe fiddle with some of the controls, but for the most part I haven't had a problem. Getting into vehicles and alot of other functions can be done with the mouse scroll.

Ended up spending two hours helping my mate set it with ArmA II Free.
SO much easier to just buy Combined Ops. :P

I love this game but I'm yet to find a good server. The maps I've played on have either been old and picked clean or lagy. Most of the servers seem to be in 1.6 as well which sucks.

I mostly play on the Games.on.net servers, but characters are persistent, so I'll jump into any server that MMGNers are playing on at the time, add me on steam - thehellerphant

I was going to upgrade to 1.7 but only a few servers are supporting it at the moment, so I'll hold off.

Had a great session with @Ang3l and @m4cr0bat today. After about 20 minutes in the wilderness, I ran into Ang3l and we started creeping around towns, scavenging supplies and headed up towards where @m4cr0bat is camping out. God I love this game!

Good game had a feature/review on this yesterday. It was a pretty big feature too... I haven't watched GG in ages but when I used to, they never spent as much time on anything as they did for this. Gotta say, it does look ****ing awesome, though painfully frustrating though lol. This is the type of thing that would push me to get into PC gaming too, as I currently just have a mac which can barely run anything.
