At the VGAs tonight, Bethesda confirmed that the rumors are true -- there's a new Elder Scrolls in the works. It's called Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and it's even got a release date -- November 11, 2011.

No information on platforms or gameplay details just yet, but we'll keep you up to date.

All we've got is a trailer so far...but I'm excited.

yeah the levelled loot and enemies is kinda annoying, I would like to be back in the old days of having to be cautious and knowing when to run away when you were being chased by a daedroth at level 3

Dude, they were badass times. The only new game I can think of right now that does that is Risen, and to an extent, Fallout: New Vegas. I remember when New Vegas came out people were all over the Steam Forum saying that Deathclaws were overpowered, because you couldn't just run up to their faces and shotgun them even at the highest level. =D

Meanwhile all of the old-school gamers were saying, "Finally! A game that kicks my ass!"

yeah, I kinda miss those days of games that were actually challenging, I remember being really really annoyed with games because I kept dying at the same place until eventually I learnt how to get past those bits. My friends just don't get why I like Morrowind so much and why I prefer it to Oblivion. One of my friends excuses was "it is all gray and brown", my response "my friend, I present the capital wasteland, gray and brown"

I disliked Oblivion so much. There's a thread about it somewhere here on the forum. It took like 5GBs of mods to make Oblivion into something that I actually enjoyed playing, and even after all of that, it got boring after a while and I never finished the main story arc. [Facepalm]

Morrowind, though! Remember how the minimap would reveal itself as you walked over the land? I revealed every possible inch of that minimap — even the bits with nothing interesting on it. That game was amazing. *_*

yeah, I remember doing that with the map, I think I still have some bits left but it was so epic, I don't hate Oblivion but I prefer Morrowind, I have started another file, tis epic, I missed Morrowind so much

EDIT: ok I am going to go back and play it some more, epic game, got the GOTY edition and sold the original edition that I had for $5 (GOTY for $10) earlier this year, I think it was worth it, I am definatly going to play it again now, I have my night planned ^_^

If you want to play Morrowind again, search the forum for the thread I made about it. I list a whole buttload of mods that make it high-res, make it cooler, etc etc.

Oh here we go, I had linked to a page that itself listed mods. Back then I had installed a total of 2GB of mods to Morrowind. morrowind2009.wordpress.com/...

I might get back to Morrowind too in the New Year, once I am done with replaying Dragon Age. It has been long enough since I played for me to have forgotten everything about the plot and quests.

yeah I have a list of mods I need to download and install for Morrowind, inprove the graphics, extra quests, all in all they are great, thanks for improving my Morrowind gaming desi ^_^
