At the VGAs tonight, Bethesda confirmed that the rumors are true -- there's a new Elder Scrolls in the works. It's called Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and it's even got a release date -- November 11, 2011.

No information on platforms or gameplay details just yet, but we'll keep you up to date.

All we've got is a trailer so far...but I'm excited.

Your reward is dragon souls?

They should have made them a lot tougher, to the point that people went on the forums and complained about them just like they complained about Deathclaws in Fallout: New Vegas. The whole game should have been punishingly difficult, I think.

I liked the death claws.. Yes I thought the dragon at the end could have been harder on adept difficulty.. I could have bumped up my difficulty but that sorta ruins it for me.. And dragon souls isn't good enough.. Could have least have giving me some kind of magic robe or some shit lol [MOG]

Dragon souls aren't enough because dragon souls are too easy to get. If Skyrim was a roguelike with permadeath, then your reward for living through a dragon encounter would be a dragon soul, plus the privilege of not having your save deleted. [MOG]

Was going to have a big session of this last night.
In the first 5 minutes my horse decides being in the ground is too mainstream, glitches 20 odd metres into the air, stays there for a minute, falls and dies.
Yeah that was enough for one night.

How is Bethesda still in business again?

Mod creators are doing their bit to keep the game alive. There are a lot of un-official patches available from the mod workshop that fix issues here and there.

My pet peeve is arrows not sticking properly; There's a mod for that.

Did check Steam but it doesn't seem to be on there. For skyrim mods, i know its easier using the workshop but your far better off using nexusmods.

I had a look around at the nexus for about all of 5 mins and then noticed it was far easier to use the workshop.

I'll give the nexus another try, there do seem to be many more complete mod packs there.

Nexus feature their own mod installer although it isn't always available to use for all the mods.
Mods on there though are far more complete and up to date than the workshop versions. I hear its a difficult process for a modder to get his work up on the workshop with most either not bothering or waiting until they hit a final release to avoid constantly going through the same bs. Plus there's a lot of content Steam won't even allow and not just the nude skin stuff.

Nah, not yet. I saw a few videos on it and it looks kinda cool, although a bit limited.

You can't build wherever you want. There are certain plots to choose from and you go from there.

I think the house building functionality is a really nice feature and worth the DLC, I wish it were released sooner though, I've already built up my manor in Skyrim. I'm happy with it, but I was hoping they would release 2 major DLC quest packs for Skyrim like how Oblivion had Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles.

Too right! I've had all my loot in The Reserve for a long time now. I'm not moving it all anytime soon.

If they bought out more DLC the size/quality of The Shivering Isles, I would be very happy.
