So dose anyone here enjoy the hell out of Left 4 Dead like I do?

I think versus mode is the best, Can't wait till they bring out the other two campaigns for versus mode.

Yeah I like the assault rifle, but you really need an ammo supply of about 40000 bullets, you just run out so fast!

I think the pump is more fun, especially on normal difficulty, just running and gunning.

I don't really think there is a power difference. Both can Crown the witch, both will take several zombies out in one blast. But I'm sure the Auto reloads faster and it sure as hell shoots faster.

I find it the most fun gun by a mile because I'm a complete killwhore in anything but Expert and Versus. I love its ability to wipe a massive choked group of zombies in a couple of shells!

Just in case you haven't noticed this, do you realise if you fire one bullet with it and then reload, you'll have consumed 50 not 1? Its not like CS so if you have a reload habit as you should in any competitive FPS, you gotta play L4D differently

I thought that at first, but every time I reload I take note of how many bullets I had in the magazine I am letting loose...

if it was the case you would see in your supply only 350 - 300 - 250 - 200 etc, then why do you get numbers between that?

It's a step in the right direction, but not quite there yet. I am still astonished that so few games have gotten it as right as Infiltration: when you do a tactical reload (fire a few and reload a new mag) the half-empty mag is put back into your webbing, and later in the battle if you lock-and-load that mag, you'll find that you have only as many rounds as was left in there. Since there's no ammo counter you have to be a bit careful because if you reload a half-empty in the middle of battle you might not know that you only ten shots in it, and then you might be in trouble.

I don't know for sure but I'm almost certain it did, I never use the Assault Rifle but my friends complain about that all the time because they use CS style reloading out of habit and lose ammo.

but then when I actually checked, it didnt. and it definitely doesn't do what Desi described.

but even so, it still chews throught the ammo like NOTHING ELSE ON EARTH, gah!
it is still massive fun getting headshots for every kill.
watching zombie's heads explode from 100m+ away is gold

My Expert buddies all used the bloody sniper rifle when we played lol I got less kills because if I didn't stick by them they would be zombie cluster****ed. It was annoying playing as the lone shotgunner with 3 people spamming Sniper shots which often went straight through a huge group of zombies/walls/tanks/anything into me and one shot killed me

Eventually just didn't run forward as much as normal and played cautiously instead which is against my nature

yeah i know what you mean.
cautiously.. like, wtf?
that would be annoying that, I think a team should have 1 sniper max.
best combo is usually 2 shotguns, 1 m16 and 1 hunting rifle.

but then that is just me, I would like the M16 more if I didn't waste so much ammo by missing.

Yeah there really should be 2 shotgunners but we managed as is because we just got into the groove of Expert

once you get in the mindset its a piece of cake, going back into it now I'm totally out of sorts and not cautious of the normal zombies

Probably. I play off an external, but it should be alright

It's not very resource heavy as well, I run this game completely maxed out and it still runs smooth as silk.

Yeah if you can run CSS you can probably run L4D its hardly better graphically just has better effects and an option for "Very High" textures

yeah its still the source engine which is years old, you can tweak it as much as you want but its no COD4

You don't go to Valve for graphics, you go for extremely good games! Mind you when HL2 released it was pretty ****ing impressive! But that was what....2005?...

EDIT: Nov 2004... close enough. Anyway L4D is just the Orange Box version of the same engine, its not very far ahead graphically

with L4D what they did was use the same engine, slap some newer better quality skins on everything and add in some wicked lighting and blurring effects and hey presto, the game looks new again.
All the fire effects and explosion and even some of the sound effects are the same.
But, I'm not complaining at all. Source has got the high quality games in it's list to back it up as a credible engine.
And what i think makes it so good is that lower spec computers can run it really well.
