I just picked up a copy of this game today and I've been umming and ahhing about it for a while. I few members on ps3.mmgn said it was worth a shot and it was only 40 bucks at EB games so I grabbed it. Turns out it was exactly what I was looking for, it plays well, looks pretty good and it's fun. So far I've only cleaned up tier 1 but even that section presented a number of different cars to drive. My only problem is I think the game doesn't like my generic game pad because my analogue occasionally switches off...or it could be goofy fingers hitting the button under the controller.
Anyone else have this game and do they like it?

Yeah I have that patch and it wont initiate.
Just installed the download manager again it's borderline useless, there's no option to update games even though I have 2 EA retail games installed.

EADM will not find the installed games automatically.

try save the patch in the shift folder and run it from there, been doing a bit of googling and thats what someone said fixed it for him, worth a shot.

Noticed NFS Shift 2 is only 40 bucks on Origin which is fairly cheap by EA standards. Do you guys think it's worth that much coin? I didn't mind the first one but really didn't get right into that game so I'm a little worried if the same will happen with the sequel as well.

I enjoyed the game. Never got around to finishing career though on all 3 platforms :P

I just get an R35, do it up and then just do bathurst quick races [Derp]

It's better with a wheel.

If you didnt get into no.1 then there's no point getting 2.

Decided to fire this game up again and have a quick play but ended up getting right into, new game save, new first car. This time I went with the BMW 135 which is much better choice than Silvia I got last time.
What did make me want to punch a hole through my monitor was the random graphics lag I'd get. The game runs smooth a silk for ages then suddenly it lags out for a few seconds, usually enough time to make me lose a race [Rage]
I'm going to hunt around to see if anyone else has the same problem.

Well one positive is that it runs beautifully in Surround mode with a centered HUD.

It's weird because it runs at a high FPS the suddenly lag! different spot each time as well.

Going to mess around with the video settings to see if that does anything even though I'm getting a really good frame rate and my specs are beyond what is needed to run the game optimally.
After Googling around it seems that the game is known for being resource hungry when it doesn't have to be, so see how we go.

Shame I can't take screen shots of this game since it's running through origin. Hmmm I wonder if Raptr can take screen shots.

Also not happy that there's no achievements for the game when run through Origin.

I bought the retail version of it and at that time I was having major troubles with Steam because it was being an epic bag of dicks and I couldn't be bothered running the game of the disc every time. I already have Origin/EA download manager back then so I activated it on there. Kinda stuck with it now, makes my Origin games list look less povo at least :P

Ok playing the game a little more now and video setting make no difference at all it still randomly lags out. It actually feels more like input lag than a graphics problem, I lose all control of the car when it happens, I just hope when it does freak out that I'm on a straight bit of track.

Does sound like it's some actual processing thing rather than just graphics.

overclock to 4ghz Guyver. Your chip can do it.

360 Controller, V-sync off but I have tried it off as well.

You might be onto something there I have read a few posts that have pointed towards the CPU. I had it at 4GHz before but I (as in my skill level) can't get it stable, 3.4 is all I can do stable.

I found i can take good screen shots using Raptr, just need to launch the game from there instead of Origin.
