I've decided to purchase the steam edition. Only due to the fact that its basically half price than it is in store. I might eventually buy a hard copy when it gets discounted to about 10 bucks or so.

COP - $65.00-$68.00aud in stores with a wait time of 2 weeks (25th/2/2010 release date)

COP - $33.72aud via steam, MINUS the wait time

***I just realised, if one of you gets either CS or SoC, then uses the deal to get this... I wonder if you can use the deal multiple times to GIFT IT TO PEOPLE.

Also I don't know, but my friend who has it says dx11 MAY be disabled waiting on a patch or something, at least he can't find anywhere to enable/disable it, or any OBVIOUS signs that it is on or off.

EDIT: Is that 2.6 gb ram usage myfragian?? ****, might be time to add another stick. I have it here, but havn't been bothering until I actually need it lol, CBF taking my computer apart again unless I have to.

I have it for SHOC, but not the one for CS or COP seeing as I bought cop on steam.. (CS special edition was never released here, and not sure about cop as of yet)

NOTE After some testing etc, the Jaco mod and the SRP patch do not work together. so atm i am using the SRP and S.H.A.R.P.E.R. texture pack.

E~ ok i just gave LURK a go in Shadow of Chernobyl...
Almost everything has been re-textured so you will notice a difference immediately. something else you will also notice is lack of GPS along with both Armour and stamina bars. so that already makes you more uncertain of the game not knowing how many guys are about or where you are going.

For me the atmosphere of the game changed with the lack of gps as i wasn't as aware of my surroundings as i would normally be.

There is also no zoom for iron-sights which is something i want but i may be able to get over in LURK as the iron sights are much better then the vanilla game.

I did the first mission and came back with 3 semi auto shotguns... so there are also much better weapons around.

All the sounds have also changed as well, from the firing of a pistol to the buttons in the pda.

This is an extensive overhaul but i keep finding myself preferring Vanilla apart from the textures/sounds/early weapons.

Another thing is this mod keeps making me feel dizzy for some unknown reason :/

For a 3.2gb mod im preferring Oblivion Lost at 170mb... i haven't played either that much, only really the first mission. i will play with them some more and keep you up to date.

Geez after reading Daniel Hindes' Editorial about CoP in PCPP I suddenly have a massive urge to play this >_< he just had a short piece on an experience in one raid and it sounded amazingly deep and random and just made me want to play it

I'm thinking of making all sorts of things STALKER related, mostly youtube videos, however after looking at alot of mods I cant help but feel strongly about wanting to make one of my own. Knowing how difficult it is to mod something such as this specially with the lack of knowledge about coding and such, I know I wouldn't be able to do it alone... So just throwing it out there, how many (if any) would be interested in attempting a "Myfrag STALKER fan" mod for either SHOC or CS?

We could combine the best mods we have found... ive already merged two mods before was reasonably easy to do but takes time because you have to read the entire thing and make sure there are no conflicts.

Pretty much all the mods are notepad based.

Is that so?.. well then that was pretty much what I had in mind. I was hoping to use OL as a base, not unlike SuperModPack 2.4, but add what we all found the best parts of the original game/OL/other mods. Example, sounds, ironsights -lookin at you there ren-, faction wars, weather. Also, adding new weapons and armours, and possibly artifacts.

Personaly i like the vanila weapons.

Weather system/sky texture overhaul, looks promosing i may give it a try.

3. CS Enhanced

overhauls most of the gameplay. you have throwing knives instead of bolts and gps trackers and backpacks to creat your own stashes etc...

E~ been thinking/fiddling with LURK for Shoc... it just makes the game feel and look like a source based game :/

I really don't like it at all... i will play with OL more latter.
