I thought i would just create a thread so you can post your steam achievements for games and post tips on how to get achievements to help others

wow, i totally forgot about portal!
think im gonna have to finish it 100% this weekend (haven't played it since i bought and installed it, but i have finished it before on a mate's account)

I shot her in the head with a shotgun at point blank range on the 360 version. I had to creep up to her from behind making as little noise as possible though.

On the PC version you have to actually startle her before you can take the headshot, so basically walk up to her, wait until she runs towards you and shotgun her point blank in the head. Will probably take you a few tries until you get lucky, like all the Zombies in L4D she tends to run on an oblique angle rather than directly at you which makes it rather difficult to set the shot up.

My latest achievment is Zombicidal Maniac, which is "Finish any campaign on Expert". Got it for finishing No Mercy on Expert on Sunday night and last night finished Death Toll on Expert which was significantly easier, we did that one first shot even though we've hardly played the campaign. So "What are you trying to prove?" is currently on 2/4

Excuse the double post but as you can see from my previous post, this bit:

Now tonight we battled though Dead Air on Expert, got to the end after not the easiest blast through, but still it was our first attempt. As the credits were rolling my friend said he was still at 2/4 of "What are you trying to prove?" so I think oh great another title that didn't ****ing register, typical. But when I go and check MY achievements its even ****ing better. Apparently finishing the 3rd campaign got me -1 on the title so now "What are you trying to prove" is back on 1/4!!??

What the ****!? I'm used to achievements not registering but this is the first time they've actually gone BACKWARDS. And its not like its an easy achievement to get either, if anyones tried playing L4D on Expert they'll get an idea of how hard it is to sit though an entire campaign in one sitting. And now I don't even know which campaign its erased!

I should be 75% though the 3rd rarest achievement in the game but no, I'm back to 25%.

So whats the rarest? The 56,000 or so zombies killed? I would think the Crowned achievement or the 'dragging someone 100ft with smoker' would be up there.

Nah Cr0wned is easy, Dragging someone 100ft is even easier (got that one the first time I ever played a smoker). The hardest to get is "Nothing Special" which is finish a campaign without any suvivor taking damage from a special infected. You can probably imagine how hard that one is! I'm about 2/3 through Zombie Genocidist but that ones not really skill based.

To be fair that was the damned games fault XD If I didn't have to redo Death Toll and Dead Air so many times to get the title to register....

EDIT: Woot I just got Nothing Special somehow on a run with bots trying to get Do Not Disturb. I got DND too but who cares in comparison to NS XD

I'm currently at 9/16 gold for Survival mode except only 8 have registered

so OMG some pc games from steam can earn you achievements? OMG.. OMFG!! now it will get to a point where i might not ever play a games that doesn't have achievements or trophies.. bloody hell.. if i was a guy i just "jizzed in my pants"
