Steam Holiday Sale 2011:
Well its that time of the year again, time to stitch shut your wallets anus for the absolute rape-train Steam is sending its way!
Duration:
This sale looks to be going from December 19th to January 1st, or in FUTURE LAND (Australia) Thats December 20 to January 2nd.
Tips:
The tickover for new daily deals seems to be 4am AEDT, so if you are a night owl, thats how hardcore you must be to wait for the new bargains to tick over!

There will be items that are on sale the whole duration, and then there will be Daily Deals, and on the last day, there will be a "Best Of" Daily Deals where the most popular games from the previous Daily Deals will be back up for round 2.

The way to get the most out of the Steam sale is to not buy ANYTHING but Daily Deals until the last day when you know the game you want is not going to be a daily deal and is just going to be whatever price it has been for the duration. The reason for this is you'll see say GRID for example as 25% of now, but later on it might be a daily deal and be 80% off. Items on sale already i go more on special for a Daily Deal, so be patient if you want to get the best price possible, and if you are new to Steam sales, you will be surprised by how cheap some shit gets!

Yeah it's nothing like Killing Floor. It's more like a 16-player co-op version of Doom.

i've bought like 10 games from my steam wallet in like 2 days, and one of them was 15 bucks and i still have like $25ish left. best value ever and it's why steam will keep me as, primarily, a pc gamer. [MOG]

I've only picked up about 4-5 games this year, most of what was on sale I already had. GOG.COM has stolen a lot of money from my wallet this year however. $2.99 for some of my favourite games ever!

And people say PC gaming is expensive! Pish! The money I save from sales like this basically pay for my hardware upgrades for me. I've probably paid less than half of what Steam Calculator says my account is worth.

Half-n-half. It's got strategy in terms of movement and weapon selection in the face of like 50 or 100 enemies charging at you from all directions. The enemy hordes are also quite assorted. I've never played Killing Floor so I can't really comment on it.

I'm just going to say this, Scott, you won't like the style of game it is.
Desi, there is no point in trying to sway him. If you succeed he will play it, find one thing he doesn't like and hang onto it and berate it until the end of time. So if you enjoy it and don't want it's memory tarnished in any way, don't convince him to buy/play it.

Aww Doyl is so butthurt :P And also that is bullshit, I can find more than one thing I don't like about every single thing I love, but I don't dwell on it unless it is so bad it makes the thing unpleasant. Killing Floor I hate because its fundamental gameplay is brainless. You continue to make the mistake of asking me "why" I hate something, apparently under the impression I don't have a reason. If you don't want to hear why I hate it, don't ask ;)

I didn't end up getting anything from there because I found the Sierra games on an abandon ware website for free :P
