Whatever happened to good Star Wars games?

Remember when Star Wars games were totally kick ass and everyone loved them? I sure do! The first CD-ROM game that ever graced my 486 was Rebel Assault, I spent countless hours playing Dark Forces, and the Jedi Knight series will always hold a special place in my heart. Hell, even the Super Star Wars series on the SNES was a magical experience.

Then they slowly got worse. While The Force Unleashed was great in terms of story, the gameplay was less than stellar, and TFU2 was just a pathetic joke.

Whatever happened to the awesome Star Wars games? Hopefully 1313 can pull it back, I've certainly got high hopes for it.

I only remember one from the N64... and that Pod Racer game.

Not sure if I actually liked them, but because I adored everything because it was on the '64.

Me too, I still remember on Tattooine, there is a salesman who is standing on the streets.

"Stand back because I'm about to slash......ALL MY PRICES," always made me laugh.

I haven't played one before except a tiny bit of unleashed and I bought a star wars game from the steam sale. I think it was called knights of the republic.. I haven't started it yet but heard great things

What happened to good Star Wars games? They had a rough patch, as simple as that.

Up until this generation they've mostly been pretty good, and the force unleashed was decent and added something important to Star Wars canon. (the second one not so much, that was a awful cash-in on the first ones success)

1313 seems to be putting looks to be another good Star Wars game. Just because we've had a couple of bad releases as of late doesn't mean good starwars games have gone.

I've only played Pod Racer, Phantom Menace, and Kotor, all on PC.
Pod Racer was bleeding amazing in my books, Phantom Menace was okay, and Kotor wasn't my cup of tea.
