I use to have around 5000 friends due to stupid games. Now Im down to 1095. It just takes sooooooo long.
And out of all them, apart from a few friends and the missus, the only other people I talk with on facebook are from this site -_-

Like say I wanted to completely remove 2010 from my profile before the timeline hits my profile?

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that. Google + is a completely different network. I have over 150 people in my circles, all of which share interesting articles, comments, photos etc. It's basically Twitter without the spam, and with more than 160 characters. I learn a lot, and I see a lot of interesting things. Hardly anyone posts personal statuses on there.

If you follow interesting people, Google + is freaking fantastic!

Yeah but, while it has 100 million users or whatever, it seems to be a niche product in comparison to Facebook.

The people I want to interact with aren't on Google+. I think most people are in the same boat.

So what's everyone's opinion on Timeline? And does anyone know what the situation is with it? (e.g. when/if it will become compulsory)

Personally I hate it with a passion. I'm tempted to delete my account if its forced on me, but i'll probably just end up keeping it but never logging on anymore.

If they don't come up with a mass deletion thing I'm scrapping Facebook. The only solution I found to do it cost me money, and that's not worth it just to keep my profile up.

I don't want my past on show for Facebook, that's why I like Facebook walls now, who's gonna put in the time to sit there and sift through 20 minutes to go back for a month.

Yeah I agree about not liking having all my past on show. Though I usually delete stuff from my wall at the time if I don't want it on there permanently.

I hate the layout, navigation and how it has to load everything constantly as you scroll. I haven't spent much time looking at timeline seeing as I rage everytime I visit a timeline profile, but it seems like once again FB are trying to phase out certain features. This time it seems to be the stuff that shows on our 'info' page. Then again maybe I jsut can't find where they moved it [Rage]

timeline is SO cluttered i cant make head nor tail of it. the list view is simple and easy to use.

why dont these companies understand that if it aint broke then dont fix it. facebook could just leave things alone and people would still use it and they would make more money with no effort.

all the social media sites try to copy one another but its the differences that make people want to use them. nearly everyone with a twitter account will have a facebook account aswell cos they are completely different and people like that

Agreed. And besides, they can't say that they're doing it to attract more people to use facebook. The people who don't use currently are either people without internet access, are not interested at all, or oldies who find it too daunting etc.

And timeline is only going to make facebook more daunting, so they're not going to be attracting older people to use it.

I barely know what to do with it, I only activated it so I could use the banners we posted in the news section.
I don't see the point in it really its just your profile page separated worth dates.

I just need a bloody app for it on my phone because I find the mobile version to be completely lacking in photo uploads among other features. Though google plus seems a little to techie/geeky and I can see how some people might not want to use it.

Facebook, there's so much spam (shitty status updates) that I think some people need to have a bit of self control. Would you really post some of that stuff as a mass SMS to your friends?
