I want to hear some good IT department stories

It seems who ever I talk to I get a horror stories about the IT departments of the company they work for. For example the place my misses used to work for had just the one IT guy that would only help you out if you were friendly with him, if you weren't his bum chum you get sent to the back of the line. If you wanted something upgraded and improved to help get your job done better then it would either "not possible" or "a complete waste of time"....well that was until the CEO would step in.
At my work place the IT guy we have only works x amount of hours a week and if you had an emergency on the day he was off it would even be noticed until he was in. When I say emergency I mean complete production stop.
The guy is mega douche bag as well, so hard to have conversation with him. Everything you get is crap and what he bought is better. What ever you have he has one better, one hardcore one-up-man. He has his moments and knows his stuff but the majority of the time it's just painful dealing with him.

So that brings me to this thread, does anyone here have a good IT department at their work? A good team or individual that actually doesn't mind helping.

Oh yes to be fair I know that a lot of the IT guys have to put up with some pretty n00bish situations and I'm sure enough of those will eventually piss you off.

I work casual as a checkout chap at Coles. I don't even think there is an I.T person at my Coles. I am always thinking how much better the software and systems could be if I was given the freedom. You can even tell that certain department managers cant efficiently update prices. When a computer F's up I just want to whip out the keyboard and do something as basic as CTRL+ALT+DELETE ... but I have to wait for my 'superior' to come over, look at it puzzled for 30 seconds, and turn off/on the power. [Facepalm]

But then ive come to learn most people working in IT have shit for brains. If anyone says when explaining why their part is faulty "I'm an IT technician" to justify their reasons for return, you learn to know this means they're a ****ing retard.

They do just about everything wrong and then shower everything they say with arrogance. Short of marketing people they're probably the most unbearable people to deal with [Facepalm]

did you here about the guy who worked at a computer repair centre and was about to get fired so he stuffed up every computer he serviced and took there bank details if they had done banking on there computer. got 10 years and had to pay $10 million for the damages
