I want to hear some good IT department stories

It seems who ever I talk to I get a horror stories about the IT departments of the company they work for. For example the place my misses used to work for had just the one IT guy that would only help you out if you were friendly with him, if you weren't his bum chum you get sent to the back of the line. If you wanted something upgraded and improved to help get your job done better then it would either "not possible" or "a complete waste of time"....well that was until the CEO would step in.
At my work place the IT guy we have only works x amount of hours a week and if you had an emergency on the day he was off it would even be noticed until he was in. When I say emergency I mean complete production stop.
The guy is mega douche bag as well, so hard to have conversation with him. Everything you get is crap and what he bought is better. What ever you have he has one better, one hardcore one-up-man. He has his moments and knows his stuff but the majority of the time it's just painful dealing with him.

So that brings me to this thread, does anyone here have a good IT department at their work? A good team or individual that actually doesn't mind helping.

Oh yes to be fair I know that a lot of the IT guys have to put up with some pretty n00bish situations and I'm sure enough of those will eventually piss you off.

my tony just calls them boxes.. seriously he says when you buy your new box thing you can connect it to your iMac..use it as a screen.. and I'm like yes when I buy my new box :P

Oh you bet! Yet they still get quite a lot of business.... Some of the stories I have heard though would make you rage beyond belief.

Only reason we ever shopped there was because of my best mate and when our last build had serious issues it almost caused a huge fight. Seriously the guy that runs the place ( Dorian ) is the biggest scamming jerk you will ever meet, in close second place is his brother Eugene.

Besides offering little to no support they also have some of the laziest tech guys you will ever know....

Probably not legal. Many computer stores do not comply with the law here.
