The old thread has reached 80 pages, and has been filled with many builds that the very helpful members of MyFrag have all contributed too.
IMPORTANT
However a problem with people changing the limit on prices, asking people to put together build estimates without knowing the costs, and people generally not knowing what they are talking about has occurred. It is acknowledged that build prices do change due to everyday life, however the number of people that have been changing the price (from 3000 in some cases to 1000...) is getting out of hand. Therefore i have created this form:

The cheapest build is with the DDR2 ram.
Not going less powerful with the card, it's for a 1080p plasma in the lounge room + for the mrs.

I would def get the lancool over the antec 300 (looks better) but i would rather the CM 690 pure black just for looks. The problem is you cant get Lancool in Perth without getting one shipped over (not worth it).

The build ROOK1E quoted you used a case that comes with a power supply. The case you have there doesn't, meaning you would have to pay for a power supply seperate. There is no reason why you couldn't use that case but it would be another $150 or so.

yeahh how much does a power supply cost? i guess if i wanted it that much i could always start witha cheap case and when ive got the time, rebuild it into the new one hey?

i think if im trying to keep it as cheap as possible, i may as well just build it with a regular case like the one rook1e pointed out

if i get really into it and it all goes well, and ive got some spare cash, i might throw it at a new case and power supply haha

I think the G5 is **** though. Depends if you like Mouse 4/5 being accessible. If you do, don't buy it, get a Microsoft Sidewinder X5. If you don't care, get a G3.
I care.

I saw video reviews on the G5 and immediately knew I had to get it. So cheap compared to the others, and it's so customizable. I'll be doing a lot of gaming so customization is a plus.

And i heard that the TT V9 sux for airflow?

And is that 1tb hdd for storage? if not i would recommend a 500gb drive... like WD caviar black...

just my 3 cents...

V9's suck for airflow? Where did you hear about that?

Storage? What do you mean? I will store quite a lot of stuff on my HDD.

I'm pretty sure i read it here on myfrag... someone said that the V9 has bs airflow compared to other cases...

And for the hdd, if you have another drive for boot (windows programs games) then its ok for files etc, but if you are going to use it as the boot drive and files etc, i wouldn't recommend it... we have had a fair few large capacity hdd's fail at work... well hdd's more then 500gb have a higher failure rate at work...

V9's have good airflow, they just have a common problem with the top exhaust fan which can lead to bad airflow.
Just gotta keep an eye on that top fan.

I don't really know much about this drive stuff, but I heard that you can virtually split a hard drive into two drives, and have one for programs/files, and one for some other stuff? (boot drive?) Is that what you're talking about?

Can I get some input on this please?

Mainly I am wondering about the PSU, if it will be enough.
Other than that, any other ways of saving money on this thing without compromising the performance?
Also, I just put that CPU cooler on there because it was fairly cheap, I have no idea of the performance, I would be more likely wanting to get the xigmatek S1283.
