The old thread has reached 80 pages, and has been filled with many builds that the very helpful members of MyFrag have all contributed too.
IMPORTANT
However a problem with people changing the limit on prices, asking people to put together build estimates without knowing the costs, and people generally not knowing what they are talking about has occurred. It is acknowledged that build prices do change due to everyday life, however the number of people that have been changing the price (from 3000 in some cases to 1000...) is getting out of hand. Therefore i have created this form:

Either of these would work. It depends if you want PCI or PCI-E slots being used up by your network adapter

I use Ethernet Cat5e Cable to Connect to the internet. Theres Cat6 which has a line speed of 1gbps but Cat5e 100mbps is good for me considering my internet plan is only 20mb Line Speed.

Just slot into the motherboard then download the driver for it. Windows 7 detects some of them and it just works when you start up the computer.

ethernets easier to set up. Pretty much plug in and your right. But if tthe cable would be awkward then network adapters do the trick

It's finally time for me to buy a new computer. I don't plan to have this for a long time and i'll probably upgrade it quite a bit in time, i just need something better than what i currently have for the time being. :/

Build Budget: ~$1000 (lower is good)
Desired Builder: Anyone
Location: Can go to MSY Auburn Branch
Ability to build PC: No but can probably find someone to build it for me. :P
Screen Resolution: 1920x1200
Desired Purpose: Handling large files in photoshop/illustrator etc., occasional playing of games, general use.
Parts being kept: N/A

For your budget 1920x1200 is rather expensive.

Would it not be better to possibly upgrade what you have now and do a full overhaul later when you have the money?

I don't need keyboard, mouse, speakers, OS or screen. My current screen is only 1440x900 but i plan to buy a 24" one later.

Maybe i could build one for that resolution and then upgrade when i buy a new screen?

I could just upgrade what i have now but i'd need a new mobo/CPU, RAM, HDD and GPU so i figure i might as well get a full system and this one can be used by my family for just general use. :S

Not really sure about the different brands or the compatibility between those parts but that's sort of what i'm looking at getting. Maybe thinking of replacing that 500GB with an SSD. Thoughts?

Look for 4 or 8gb sets.

It should yeah. It's hard to know for sure, occasionally some memory doesn't like some boards but you can't really pick that.

@Jono get the aforementioned Ripjaws. They're QVL tested with basically every 1155 board.
