Is it me or has there been an abundance of Tablet related news and information flooding the tech sites? iPad, Tegra 2 tablets, etc etc. I don't see the point to buying one of these touch screen tablets to just read emails, search the web, view media, they're too big to be conveniently used in public and too small to be used at home as primary internet access device.
It might come in handy if you were a sales rep walking around a show room floor and could use a tablet to display your product, but for every day use I can't see this device being worth its money.

So, tablets = pointless techno gimmick or not?

iPad pwns all guyz! I usually jump on the bandwagon that shouts "He's a witch, burn him" at every Apple fanboy but you can't beat the apps and accessories for the iPad right now. When Android releases something that has more than 4 gamez and a multitude of awesome apps then I'll be getting one.

People have always done that sort of thing, one example I clearly remember was when the PS3 came out, but he used a sledge hammer or something.

i think the battery will last 5 minutes and if you are seen in public playing this you will be ridiculed and besides how the freak to you carry the damn thing. the joystick things will break off easily

So my dad was signing up for an iphone plan the other week, and somehow they talked him into (without him even realizing what he was agreeing to) a $20 data plan, with a bonus tablet. No way he is going to use 4gb (2+2) of data a month, and he doesn't even know what a tablet is :/

** I did it. I bought myself an ASUS transformer prime. It was costly, but it is replacing my laptop (that has been crashing 3-4 times a night, and gets painful hot to touch).

I'm new to android, so there is a lot of things to work out, however first impressions are positive.
