It's only tack welding to hold it in place, just look at the guy whos building it and his other work. He knows what he's doing when it comes to cars. When putting something like that for the first time you don't go all out and do your final welds first off.

It's not bad, and as usual you see last models HSV features on the SS models. Also looks like there's a few engine options and with a focus on efficiency. Curious to see what the do with the HSV models I hear that they will be super charged.

Noticed this gun metal grey SS unmarked cop doing the rounds in Springvale today. What pissed me off was how he pulled over this Honda that was in front of me. I was dead on doing 80kph and then I see that dirty cop pull up next to him trying to match his speed, it looked like he really half arsed it because he was "matching" his speed for about 20 seconds before he decides to pull him over. Going how quick I was going I'm guessing that the Honda would have been going 82 to 85kph MAX! Factor in that he was climbing up a slight hill, he just pulled onto the main road a minute ago(bugger all time to settle into the speed limit perfectly), also it was a fairly old car so the speedo could have been out a little, the cop car was sitting on big wheels so his speedo could have been out a bit as well, basically this poor bastard got pulled over for nothing. Maybe not nothing more like to fill this fat cops daily quota of revenue collecting.

if the Honda driver just flat out denied doing more than the speed limit in that instance the cop couldn't have done anything more than give him a ticket.
Speed matching with the speedo is very imperfect. Even an onboard electronic speedo tuned to 100% accuracy can't be used.

That's what bothered me the most about, I understand if he was going 20 over the limit but the dude was driving like everyone else does. No one can sit in the exact limit perfectly you are bound to go up and down a few k's. It's not like this cop followed him for a decent amount of time he only watched him for a few seconds and made a half arsed money grabbing judgement.

That would be epic I've been waiting a long time for HSV to start doing stuff like that. You spend nearly a 100 grand for them they should have more tech in them. I look at my car and it seems their philosophy was to put the biggest engine they could find and just go with that to make it go quick. Stiffen up the suspension and install really comfy seats to compensate.

Been driving my misses 320ci more recently so when I get bored I explore its limits. This thing handles very nicely for a stock car the balance is good so I could imagine the M model of this car would be pretty fun to drive.

I remember once with my old VS Commodore I copped a wicked puncture that was so bad it couldn't be repaired. Basically my tyre went flat instantly, when I went to inspect it there was a half inch thick bolt in my tyre [MOG] Probably only got in there because they tyres were getting a little on the thin side but still impressive to get in there considering I wasn't speeding or anything like that. Oh yeah this happened at the most convenient time at 5:30am in the freezing cold while it was raining. :'@

A couple of months ago we got invited to an open day at one of our suppliers. They were showing off new printers, stock, services etc. Part way through they had a demonstration of vehicle vinyl wraps using a new "easy apply" material. I'm not into those vinyl wraps but when I was flicking though their catalog I saw a carbon fiber wrap that looked like the real deal. Also I remember seeing a new GTR covered in the stuff at a trade show and it had me fooled until I started flicking panels and it made a metal sound. I'm thinking about getting a couple of meters and see how I go doing the bonnet and mirrors. My car already has a black and yellow theme so I think it might work well, if I end up not liking it I just hit it with the heat gun and remove it.

Hey how hard was it to wrap your mirrors? I'm looking at my bonnet and that's a pretty funny shape as well, got to pull this little extra garnish off it as well.
