Title as suggested ^_^ and holy crap I can't believe that we are already onto our 3rd thread, that's over 200 pages of car talk. We need cars.mmgn [Shifty]

For reference here's the previous threads:
First thread pc.mmgn.com/...
Second thread pc.mmgn.com/...
Car Modification thread pc.mmgn.com/...

PLEASE RE-SIZE ANY EMBEDDED IMAGES! either re-size them or just post a link to their location, large images make the page take longer to load and it kills anyone accessing the thread via the mobile app

Thank you.

abuu91 said: I got a little lazy and left cleaning my car for a full month. Getting road material off paint is such a tedious thing to do. I know how you feel, Guyver. With the CT18 I use at work you can normally just hose that kind of thing off; sucks to a clean a vehicle without it around.
Not sure if it's because my battery keeps hitting and arcing into my bonnet but the two points of paint that I lost from my bonnet seem to have never started to rust. I'm totally okay with that. The longer it lasts the better it is for me.

Maybe seal up the bare metal parts with something so it doesn't eventually rust.
I've heard that CT18 stuff is pretty good, would beat the heck out of picking little bits of tar and bugs with your fingers.

What brand cleaning products do you use?

For the general stuff like car wash soap, window cleaner and stuff like that I usually get Armorall. I think it's a good balance of quality and price. with fancy stuff like polish, leather treatment I've recently been using autoglym which Skarteh put me onto a while back. Expensive stuff but it's high quality stuff. With products like wax and leather conditioner I think it's good to spend the extra money, you don't use it often so it ends up lasting you a while anyway.
Armorall is pretty good I used to use that but now I use Meguires because I got it for free. :P

I also used the Nu Finish once a year polish which has defiantly helped as I haven't washed my car for a while due to the weather yet it still has a very nice shine.

I've never heard about Autoglym until now. :O

They have a pretty good range, they just about cover everything.

Check out this video about car cleaning, this is the extreme end of OCD car cleaning. Strip away a few of the things he mentions like check around the car before cleaning it...seriously your car is dirty just wash it lol you are not doing a tune up here :P Anyway there are some good tips in there like having a separate bucket for your wheel cleaning stuff because there's some abrasive crap that can build up on your wheels and you don't want that rubbing against your paint.

I was looking at the Street Machines Facebook page and saw this V8-powered monster NIki [WTF]

You'd have to be a complete nutter to drive this thing at the limit.

lol been a while since the site has told me my post "is too long"

Man I should have taken a picture of this weirdly customised EF XR6 I saw today. Let me try and describe it, for starters it was the straightest EF I have ever seen in my life, you don't see many clean ones because there's no a single standout model worth looking after in the EF range. This XR6 I saw was painted in the nicest candy apple red paint and it looked like it was painted by someone who knows what they are doing....and that's where the good stuff stops. The bottom half of the door had a custom XR6 sticker that spans both doors. It looked like crap and completely ruins the car, the sticker is black with "XR6" written in white text and it looks like some kid designed it using MS paint. Then it still had the stock XR6 16" wheels on it, they might have been from another model but they looked like arse. Then I heard the thing take off and for a short second I thought it was worked then as it got further away I saw the rusted out botched job "sports exhaust" it had on it. Who the hell puts a 8 grand candy paint job on 1500 buck shi**er like an EF? It would have been nice if that sticker wasn't on there, it had decent rims on it, a body kit to hide the ugly EF shape. My guess is that he's a painter by trade and just wanted to paint something.
I do my wheels last with what ever is left in the bucket, it usually destroys the sponge though. :P If you followed his wash it would be expensive but I guess worth it with a good car.

My EF is sexy :P Nah mines just clean and well looked after no point doing mods like you said you saw to such an old car worth only around 2K.

Some people make cars look hideous I see so many shit chrome hub caps that annoy me [Facepalm]
That EF I saw would have been a clean example with a wicked paint job if he didn't butcher it with that massive sticker on the door. Seriously who puts massive stickers over such nice paint? I have seen some nice custom EF's but they all have thousands spent on them with crazy crap like custom body kits and turbo conversions. The 90's was not a good decade for Ford Australia, it wasn't until FPV got involved with the Falcons and gave us the Typhoons and GT's. Things got interesting then, if I wasn't so dead set on getting a HSV I would have got a GT or Typhoon but growing up next to the HSV factory in Clayton and watching them get made all those years I just had to get one eventually.
Mate got an 02 lancer to replace his 89 laser, its nice.
Just saw a matte black VE caprice with big black wheels.
Have not seen a commodore look that good... Ever.

Seen a very similar car on eastlink her a few times. Absolutely badass. Not often you see modded VE's but they look bloody nice. Practically have a widebody stock!
Sadly you can't really fit that wide of a rim under them because of the inner clearance...

This guy had to flare his guards a fair few cm's to fit these:

That Maloo looks wicked, most ute owners wanting wider rims would have just tubbed it instead.
Have the actual flares been adjusted externally or did they just make more room inside them with a block of wood and a hammer?
You can use a guard roller machine that "evenly" stretches the guards out. Something I can never do because my rear doors hang over the rear guards :(

So that's why all vy/vz's go hella sunk when lowered.

This guy cut out some of the existing guard, added on some guard (fibreglass), bogged it up and made it smooth. If you get what I mean.

Just imagine that maloo just creeping up behind you, and you see how fat it is in the rear view. Would shit bricks. Hahaha.
I hate it when people lower their Commodores unevenly, having the arse looking like it's 3 inches lower than the front. If I ever lower my car I'd do it evenly, also having the back wheels half stuffed under the rear guards looks like cop bait.

and this is what wet dreams are made of [Derp]

I love that R8 *_*
I've always wanted to get these sill panel covers but it looks like all they have left for my model is a set of two for the VT to VZ Ute eshop.hsv.com.au/... and the price is a little much...actually it's complete bull shi*!

oh wait *searches eBay*
One guy is selling a full set for my model for $270 www.ebay.com.au/...

...ok I don't want them that badly, might buy them one day when I feel like buying something silly.
@Guyver the good thing about Fords EF is that they were/are very reliable cars, my EF runs very well and for the price of it it's worth it.

They may not have the best looks but that's not an issue if it's reliable :P
Surprised to see 2 Deloreans listed on www.carsales.com.au/... [MOG]
Both state "Unmolsted" lol :P
As much as I love the DeLorean and as much as I want one, it really was a crappy car, if I ever had the money to get one and actually wanted to drive it I'd get a better engine put in it.

I've seen one with a rebuilt motor and twin turbos on it. I'd want one with a Flux capacitor and a Mr Fusion on it :P

pk who likes their hot hatch backs?

More pics of the Top Gear Delta Wing, it did turn out pretty good and it was done in such a small time frame. www.topgear.com/...
