The Call of Duty "Eclipse reveal" marketing campaign is about to begin; however, the game is still expected to be called Black Ops 2.
Marketing campaign bookings have been circulated in Australia for the "COD Eclipse reveal", which will take place in North America on May 1.
Speculation that the game might instead be called "Call of Duty: Eclipse" began due to the game's rumoured November 13 release date, the day of a total Solar eclipse.
A confidential marketing source has told MMGN that Activision's upcoming marketing campaign, to begin on May 1 North American time, refers to the game as "COD: Eclipse".
However, Activision may well be using that as a project name to generate excitement. Everything else up until this point has pointed to Black Ops 2 as the next Call of Duty instalment.
